Job description

Responsible for modeling, transforming, and documenting data to provide meaningful datasets that enable the business to gain insights and make informed, data-driven leadership decisions.

EXPECTATIONS

Design, develop, and implement enterprise and departmental data models into clean, tested, and reusable datasets, empowering end users and stakeholders to answer critical business questions.

Transform, clean, and aggregate data to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Collaborate with business partners to capture requirements, translate business needs into technical reporting specifications, and obtain BRD sign-offs.

Resolve data discrepancies swiftly, explain data findings, and secure final approval of source-to-target mappings.

Build and optimize queries and stored procedures in SQL Server databases.

Partner with data engineers to ensure proper data loading into the data warehouse.

Mentor and coach junior BI Developers on policies and practices.

Maintain a customer-first approach in collaboration with stakeholders, leaders, and fellow developers.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education - Required: High School Diploma

Education - Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field

Experience/Skills/Competencies

• Minimum 7 years of related data warehouse and analysis experience, preferably in financial technology.
• Experience with SQL (T-SQL preferred), dimensional data modeling (Kimball/Inmon/star/snowflake), ETL development (SSIS preferred), data marts, and data warehouses.
• At least 3 years of experience with reporting tools (Tableau, SSRS, Power BI, etc.).
• Proficient with code versioning tools such as TFS and GIT.
• Programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala, along with SQL experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong mathematical skills for analyzing equations.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and customer service orientation for deriving data insights.
• Meticulous, detail-oriented, with high standards for accuracy.
• Problem solver, critical thinker, self-motivated, with integrity and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Experience in Agile environments and adaptability to changing priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, written communication, and presentation skills.
• Coaching, mentorship, and training experience preferred.
• Organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
