Job summary

GBLI | Global Indemnity is seeking a BI Analyst to design, implement, and maintain Power BI content that drives underwriting and profitability insights. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into measurable metrics and dashboards.

The role requires a quantitative bachelor's degree, 1–3 years of Power BI experience, strong analytical abilities, and solid communication skills. Insurance knowledge is a plus, and the company emphasizes growth and collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field.
  • SQL programming experience.
  • 1–3 years' experience with Microsoft Power BI.
  • Experience in a collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Insurance knowledge is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain, and upgrade Power BI content across the organization.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them to metrics.
  • Update metrics using new data trends and leadership initiatives.
  • Develop underwriting and profitability performance metrics for senior management.
  • Support Finance with automated analyses.
  • Troubleshoot data warehouse issues and coordinate IT solutions.

The typical starting salary range for this position can vary depending on several factors such as geographic location, education, experience, and skill set. The full salary range for this position is designed to provide employees with the opportunity to progress and grow within their positions and reflects the competitive market value for these positions across the national market. GBLI, also offers a total compensation plan including bonuses for all positions.

Typical annualized starting salary range for this position:

$76,000 to 110,000

This range reflects base salary only and is not inclusive of bonus potential and other compensation considerations as it relates to the role.

Essential Duties & Functions

  • Designing, maintaining, and upgrading content across the Microsoft Power BI platform.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand their needs and how they impact the business.
  • Update metrics as needed using new trends in data and initiatives from leadership.
  • Developing underwriting and profitability performance metrics alerts for senior management.
  • Support Finance operations with automation of routine analyses.
  • Troubleshoot problems with data warehouse and work with IT on developing a solution.
Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree in quantitative field
