Responsibilities
- ETL Development and Data Modeling: Develop and maintain basic ETL processes to integrate data from various sources. Assist in creating and managing data models for reporting and analysis.
- Reporting and Dashboard Creation: Create and maintain simple reports and dashboards using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and QlikView to support business decisions.
- Website and Intranet Content Management: Manage and update content on the city’s website and Intranet, ensuring information is accurate, user-friendly, and aligned with the city's branding. Conduct periodic audits to ensure content is up-to-date and optimized for accessibility.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work with various city departments to gather, edit, and publish information on the website and Intranet. Ensure content is easy to understand and aligned with communication goals.
- Customer Support: Assist city staff in using business intelligence tools and interpreting reports to ensure they can make data-driven decisions.
- Security and Access Management: Ensure BI and web solutions incorporate proper security measures, including user access levels and data protection protocols.
- Problem-Solving and Analysis: Support troubleshooting and problem-solving for BI applications and website content issues. Provide recommendations for improving data quality and user experience.
- Optimization of Web Pages: Collaborate with programmers to enhance the usability, consistency, and functionality of web pages and applications.
- Web Analytics: Monitor basic web analytics to understand user behavior and improve content effectiveness and user engagement.

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with attention to detail, especially for managing web content.
- Basic proficiency in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView.
- Familiarity with SQL and basic experience in data modeling, warehousing, and ETL processes.
- Basic knowledge of programming languages like Python or R.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Understanding of website management principles and how content fits into the user experience (UX).
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Certifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related degree plus one year of experience in a related field is required. Four years’ experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree requirement.
Valid Texas Driver’s License. CompTIA Data+ (Preferred).
