Job summary

RedSky seeks a Business Intelligence Analyst (SECRET) to design, develop, deploy, and maintain BI solutions for USSOCOM leaders and KM staff. You will build Power BI dashboards and reports delivering real-time, role-based insight across HQ, components, and TSOCs.

You will gather requirements from non-technical stakeholders, translate questions into data models, and present findings with strong written and verbal communication. DoD experience preferred.

Qualifications

• - Active Secret clearance.
• - 4+ years experience in BI, data analytics, or reporting in a DoD or federal environment.
• - 4+ years proficiency in Power BI Desktop & Service; report/dashboard creation, data modeling, DAX, Power Query, workspace management, and refresh.
• - 4+ years designing star schema and dimensional models for analytical reporting.
• - 3+ years DAX proficiency: measures, calculated columns, time intelligence, iterators, context-transition.
• - 3+ years Power Query for data extraction, transformation, merging, pivoting/unpivoting, parameterized queries.
• - 3+ years connecting Power BI to SQL Server, SharePoint Online, Dataverse, Excel, REST APIs, OData feeds.
• - 3+ years gathering requirements from non-tech stakeholders and presenting findings to executives.
• - 3+ years excellent written and verbal communication.
• - CompTIA Security+ certification.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain data visualization, reporting, and analytics solutions for USSOCOM leaders and KM professionals.

Responsibilities

The Business Intelligence Analyst is to design, develop, deploy, and maintain data visualization, reporting, and analytics solutions that transform raw data into actionable intelligence for United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) leaders, staff, and knowledge management professionals. This position serves as the bridge between operational data and decision-makers — building Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets that deliver real-time, role-based insight across USSOCOM Headquarters, its Components, and Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs). The BI Analyst ensures that senior leaders, program managers, KM officers, and operational staff at every echelon have immediate access to the curated, accurate, and visually compelling information they need to achieve decision superiority without manual data compilation or "hand jam."

Required Skills/Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance
• Four (4+) years of business intelligence, data analytics, or reporting experience in a Department of Defense (DoD) or federal government environment
• Four (4+) years demonstrated proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service — report and dashboard creation, data modeling, DAX measures, Power Query transformations, workspace management, and scheduled refresh configuration.
• Four (4+) years experience designing star schema and dimensional data models for analytical reporting. Understanding of fact tables, dimension tables, relationships, cardinality, and filter context.
• Three (3+) years of demonstrated proficiency in DAX — ability to write measures, calculated columns, time intelligence functions, iterator functions, and context-transition expressions.
• Three (3+) years of demonstrated proficiency in Power Query for data extraction, transformation, merging, appending, pivoting/unpivoting, and parameterized queries.
• Three (3+) years of pragmatic experience connecting Power BI to multiple data source types — SQL Server, SharePoint Online, Dataverse, Excel, REST APIs, and OData feeds.
• Three (3+) years of demonstrated ability to gather requirements from non-technical stakeholders, translate operational questions into data models and visualizations, and present findings to senior leaders
• Three (3+) years of displayed experience of excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to explain data concepts, metrics, and dashboard insights to audiences ranging from analysts to general officers
• CompTIA Security+ certification
