The position is Hybrid within the state of Arizona. This remote opportunity requires residency and work to be performed within Arizona. Onsite requirements may change based on business needs and job responsibilities, with most employees expected to be onsite at least once per week.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL job functions AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Level 1 - Performs job functions under close supervision or peer review
- Analyze, track, and resolve processing problems; coordinate with all areas
- Track and resolve programming problems
- Develop and document business objectives, processing requirements, and specifications
- Develop and document system and data diagrams, program flows
- Develop test plans, scripts, and test bases
- Analyze files and map data from one system to another
- Draft or modify internal procedures; implement new procedures including workflows, manuals and training
- Utilize corporate data tools to ensure quality and documentation standards are achieved
- Provide backup support to SMEs in two or more areas as assigned: BI Project Management; BI Production Reporting; Application Architecture; Application Architecture and Support; Training
- Provide backup support to SMEs in one or more datamarts
Technical/Programming
- Learn process and data flow; understand how it affects surrounding systems and operations
- Map logical data models to physical data models
- Maintain existing programs/routine changes and major enhancements
- Document programs, systems, manuals, etc.
- Review code for design, standards, content, and functionality
- Design and code complex programs
- Handle production cycles, resolve abends, and notify problems
- Maintain production support documentation
- Review code and program in multiple languages (SQL, VB.net, 3GL/4GL)
- Translate business needs into technical solutions with knowledge of BI tools (SQL, ETL, OLAP)
- Implement and maintain operational and disaster-recovery procedures
- Manage Metadata and conduct capacity planning
- Write or modify internal procedures for operations
- Utilize ODBC and OLE DB methodologies
Business Intelligence / Database
- Educate users on data warehouse capabilities; align data definitions across users
- Identify business opportunities for information usage
- Schedule data updates and report generation
- Develop BI and EIS applications; migrate reporting apps to data warehouse and datamarts
- Develop periodic and monitoring reporting systems; ensure data quality
- Implement data access tools; develop metadata management processes
Project Management
- Develop programs, time estimates, and project schedules based on priorities
- Use project management methodologies and manage time effectively
- Create and deliver presentations; monitor and prioritize for user management
User Support
- Assist users with data requests and end-user support
- Create basic ad-hoc reports for internal and external use
Level 2 - Performs job functions with general supervision
- Train data warehouse users
- Ensure department leverages internal tools and applications effectively
- Build, support, and maintain moderately complex processes, programs, and data
- Participate or lead small to medium projects
- Create moderately complex ad-hoc reports
- Develop expertise in two or more areas (BI Project Management; BI Production Reporting; Application Architecture; Training) and in one or more datamarts
Level 3 - Performs job functions with minimal supervision
- Advance procedures and processes; support new technologies
- Build, support, and maintain moderately complex processes, programs, and data
- Assess high-level project information and forecast work effort
- Provide peer mentorship to levels 1 and 2
- Lead large or complex technical projects
- Create complex ad-hoc reports
- Act as SME in two or more areas (BI Project Management; BI Production Reporting; Application Architecture; Training) and in one or more datamarts
Level 4 - Performs job functions in a lead capacity
- Serve as primary operational contact for internal and external customers as needed
- Ensure SLAs between department and other areas are met
- Lead, mentor, and develop staff through delegation and training
- Inform management of issues affecting department performance; provide timely feedback
- Assist the manager in daily operations
ALL LEVELS
- Each level includes the ability to perform lower-level functions and mentor others
- Maintain knowledge of new developments in technology
- Participate in corporate quality and data governance programs
- Full-time schedule is at least 40 hours per week, plus additional hours as needed
- Participate in on-call rotation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 1 year of experience in computer technology and/or information systems (Level 1)
- 2 years of experience in computer technology and/or information systems (Levels 2 - 4)
- 2 years of experience in data management and report analysis, design or development (Levels 2 - 4)
Required Education
- High-School Diploma or GED in general field of study (All Levels)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Work Experience
- 2 years of experience in computer technology and/or information systems (Level 1)
- 3 - 5 years of experience in computer technology and/or information systems (Level 2)
- 5 years of experience in data management and report analysis, design or development (Levels 3 - 4)
- 2 years of experience working in healthcare-related systems as a business analyst or programmer (Levels 3 - 4)
Preferred Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field (All Levels)
