Job summary

Travelers is offering a 10-week BI&ALDP internship in data analytics, based in Hartford, CT, and St. Paul, MN. Interns work on real projects, receive hands-on training, and are evaluated as professionals from day one.

Housing support is available, with opportunities to advance to full-time roles after successful completion. You will learn through cross‑enterprise collaboration, gain practical experience in GIS, Python, SQL, and analytics platforms, and participate in a capstone presentation

Qualifications

• Pursuing or obtained a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
• GPA 3.2+ preferred.
• Exposure to ESRI ArcGIS Pro and other GIS mapping software.
• Comfortable with using Python.
• Data warehouse/ETL understanding with Python, SQL, and/or Snowflake.
• Knowledge of data lakes and/or experience with Databricks a plus.

Responsibilities

• Real project work aligned to active business needs across Travelers' analytics functions.
• Technical training taught by BI&ALDP participants.
• Formal performance reviews with constructive feedback.
• Leadership exposure through Intern Symposium and community outreach initiatives.

The hourly salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual hourly rate for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards. Salary Range $28.00 - $30.00 Target Openings 4

Over 10 weeks, you and your cohort of peers will be embedded in Travelers' data and analytics community, gaining hands‑on experience in one or more of our core analytics disciplines while building the technical and professional skills that define a successful career. Technical training is delivered to you by current full‑time BI&ALDP participants — those who were recently in your position — giving you an authentic, peer‑informed perspective on what it takes to grow here.

Housing: The internship program is based in Hartford, CT and St. Paul, MN. Positions are available in our business units and corporate departments. Subsidized apartments are available for students who live beyond a commutable distance from Hartford, CT or St. Paul, MN. Positions are available from June through early August.

What Will You Do?

• Real project work aligned to active business needs across Travelers' analytics functions.
• Technical training taught by full-time BI&ALDP participants.
• Formal performance reviews that give you honest, structured feedback on your growth.
• Leadership exposure through company‑wide events including the Intern Symposium and community outreach initiatives, where you will interact with leaders and a cohort across the enterprise.
• A collaborative capstone presentation where you and your fellow interns develop and present solutions to relevant business and analytics challenges.
• Leverage modern analytical and artificial intelligence (AI) tools/platforms with the ability to apply critical thinking to evaluate limitations related to quality and accuracy of AI‑assisted outputs.
• At the close of the internship, top‑performing interns are eligible to interview for a full‑time offer to join the BI&ALDP — making these 10 weeks one of the most important career opportunities of your academic journey.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

• Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or greater preferred.
• Obtained or pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science or Geography.
• Exposure to ESRI ArcGIS Pro and other GIS mapping software and platforms.
• Comfortable with using Python.
• Experience with spatial statistics, including working knowledge of map projects and coordinate system variations.
• Data warehouse and ETL understanding with Python, SQL, and/or Snowflake.
• Knowledge of data lakes and/or experience with Databricks a plus.

What is a Must Have?
