Elevance Health is seeking a Business Information Consultant to build and maintain data assets that inform business performance and strategic decisions. You will design and publish reports using SQL Server, Snowflake AEDL, Oracle, and Teradata data sources, and deliver dashboards in Tableau or PowerBI.

The role is hybrid, requiring in-office presence 1–2 days per week in Norfolk, VA, with alternate locations considered within commuting distance.

Anticipated End Date: 2026-11-04 Position Title: Business Information Consultant

Job Description: Business Information Consultant Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Ideal candidates will be able to report to our Pulse Point location in Norfolk, VA. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office. Please note that per our policy on hybrid/virtual work, candidates not within a reasonable commuting distance from the posting location(s) will not be considered for employment, unless an accommodation is granted as required by law.

• Creates and maintains databases to track business performance.
• Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.
• Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.
• Creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports.
• Takes business issues and devises the best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools.
• Makes recommendations based upon data analysis.
• Provides analytic consultation to other business areas, leadership, or external customers.
• Performs data analysis and reporting at a significantly higher level of complexity.

Minimum Requirements:

• Requires a BS/BA degree in related field and a minimum of 5 years' experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

• 5+ years of SQL Server experience highly preferred.
• Experience working with data sources like Snowflake AEDL, GBD Facets, Oracle, Teradata, Flat Files, highly preferred.
• Strong experience in developing Stored Procedures, Functions, Views and Indexes, Complex SQL queries using SQL Server with ability to manipulate large sets of data highly preferred.
• 3+ years of Tableau or PowerBI experience required with ability to create scorecards, dashboards using stack bars, bar graphs, scattered plots, geographical maps, Gantt charts highly preferred.
• Experience in financial reporting and analytics, reconciliation, variance analysis, and development of reports to support business performance monitoring and strategic decision-making preferred.
• Experience with Postpay recovery or Prepay process within Payment Integrity, Cost of Care processes and/or financial reporting preferred.

For candidates working in person or virtually in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $91,680 - $137,520 Locations: Virginia
