Job summary

Ogletree Deakins in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Business Immigration Paralegal to support its fast-paced immigration practice. Under attorney supervision, you will prepare and file NIV and IV petitions, analyze case facts, draft correspondence, and manage client documentation while collaborating with multiple attorneys.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or ABA-approved paralegal certificate.
• 5+ years of employment-based immigration paralegal experience.
• Knowledge of the NIV process (H-1B, L-1, TN).
• Knowledge of IV processing including I-140s and I-485s.
• Strong writing skills, excellent attention to detail, multitasking, and ability to work independently toward team goals.
• Outstanding organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize client documentation and case files.

Position Summary

The Immigration Paralegal role is an exciting opportunity to grow your career with one of the largest law firms in the United States. We have one of the largest business immigration practices in the United States; our immigration practice group consists of experienced and dedicated immigration lawyers and paralegals who work with domestic and international corporations and businesses in developing appropriate strategies to facilitate the international transfer of skilled employees.

Our Austin, TX office has an opportunity for an experienced Business Immigration Paralegal to join their fast-paced business immigration practice! Under attorney supervision, the immigration paralegal is responsible for the preparation and filing of NIV and IV petitions. The paralegal compiles and analyzes case facts, drafts correspondence, maintains and organizes client documentation, and communicates directly with multiple attorneys.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program.
• 5+ years of employment-based Immigration Paralegal experience required, preferably in a large law firm environment.
• Knowledge of the NIV (Nonimmigrant Visa) process, specifically in H-1B, L-1, and TN.
• Knowledge of the IV (Immigrant Visa) processing including I-140s and I-485s.
• Successful candidates will possess strong writing skills, have excellent attention to detail, be able to multitask, and work independently toward team goals.
• Outstanding organizational skills are required.
• Be able to multitask and work independently toward team goals.
• Strong proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, INSZoom, and document management systems.
