Job summary

Burr & Forman LLP seeks a full-time, experienced business immigration paralegal to support the firm's immigration practice by preparing, filing, and tracking various immigration applications and petitions. The position may be resident in our Atlanta, GA, Bluffton, SC, Columbia, SC, or Greenville, SC offices.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification and at least two years of business immigration experience (H-1B, L-1, TN, PERM).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, paralegal certification or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Two years of business immigration experience with visa petitions (H-1B, L-1, TN) and green cards (PERM).
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and takes ownership.
• Excellent writing, proofreading, and research skills.
• Ability to balance competing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment with professionalism.
• Collaborative team member across audiences.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Asana or LawLogix a plus.

• Extensive communication with clients, beneficiaries, attorneys, and government agencies.
• Draft immigration correspondence including support letters and other key documents for attorney review.
• Other responsibilities as needed.

THE ESSENTIALS

• A bachelor's degree, paralegal certification or degree, and/or appropriate combination of education/experience.
• Two years of business immigration experience with visa petitions (H-1B, L-1, TN) and green cards (PERM).
• Highly organized, detail-orientated, proactive, and desire to take ownership.
• Excellent writing, proofreading, and research skills.
• Balance competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment, exercising patience and professionalism during stressful situations.
• Work collaboratively as a member of the team and a variety of audiences.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint with knowledge of Asana, LawLogix or other immigration software a plus.
