Northwestern College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor of economics position beginning in August 2027. The teaching load is 24 credit hours per academic year, typically consisting of three courses per semester. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will be expected to engage in scholarly activity and institutional service, including advising and recruiting students in the business and economics programs.

The successful candidate will teach

  • Principles of Finance
  • Investments
  • Advanced Corporate Finance and some of the following economics courses:
  • Principles of Microeconomics
  • Principles of Macroeconomics
  • Intermediate Microeconomics
  • Intermediate Macroeconomics
  • Econometrics
  • Money and Banking
  • Behavioral Economics
  • Managerial Economics There may be opportunities to teach other courses in the candidate’s areas of specialization.

Required Qualifications: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in economics or a closely related field to be considered for a tenure-track appointment; candidates who are ABD will also be considered. Applicants with a master's degree and substantial professional experience may be considered for appointment as an instructor or professor of practice.
