Job summary

Linwood Center is seeking a Business Director to oversee the center’s business and operational functions, supporting programs, staff, and individuals served. You will guide facilities, purchasing, safety, risk management, contracts, and special projects to ensure smooth daily operations.

You will partner with the CFO and Executive Director on performance, strategically improving processes, and leading cross‑functional teams to drive organizational growth and community impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration required.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in business/operational leadership.
• Experience with budgeting and financial management.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to build relationships with staff, families, and community partners.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day business and operational needs of the Center.
• Provide leadership for facilities, maintenance, purchasing, safety, and vendor management.
• Supervise the Facilities Manager and maintenance staff.
• Partner with CFO and Executive Director to evaluate operations and suggest improvements.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and purchasing activities.

At Linwood Center, we're looking for a Business Director to oversee the business and operational functions that support our programs, employees, and the individuals we serve. This is a key leadership role with a broad view of the organization—from facilities and purchasing to vendor relationships, safety, risk management, contracts, and special projects.

What You'll Do

• Oversee the day-to-day business and operational needs of the Center
• Provide leadership and direction for facilities, maintenance, housekeeping, food service, purchasing, safety, risk management, and other operational functions
• Supervise and support the Facilities Manager and maintenance staff
• Partner with the CFO and Executive Director to evaluate business operations and recommend improvements
• Manage relationships and contracts with vendors, insurance carriers, and other external partners
• Oversee purchasing activities and ensure purchasing practices align with organizational policies
• Support facilities and operational needs across Linwood's programs and services
• Serve as a resource and provide operational leadership when the Facilities Manager is unavailable
• Represent Linwood in the community and help build relationships with other organizations and agencies
• Participate in marketing and business development activities that support organizational growth and revenue opportunities
• Lead and coordinate special projects from planning through completion
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and organizational operations

Qualifications: What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration required
• At least 10 years of successful professional experience
• Strong knowledge of management and supervisory practices
• Experience with budgeting and financial management
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to effectively use office and accounting software
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with staff, families, community partners, and other professionals
• A flexible, solutions-oriented approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities
