Job summary

Williams is seeking a Business Development Representative – Gas to lead strategic projects, build key customer relationships, and drive growth across the Western US gas market. You will partner with leadership to shape deal structures, assess risks, and explore new commercial opportunities in a Fortune 500 environment.

Ideal candidates bring extensive experience in natural gas marketing, strong PM skills, and a track record of acquiring and retaining customers.

Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in natural gas infrastructure and natural gas marketing.
  • Strong customer acquisition and retention capabilities.
  • Excellent relationships with producers, end-users, and operators.
  • MBA is preferred for leadership track.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large, complex projects with risk and complexity to meet objectives.
  • Negotiate deal structures and assess risk/reward and costs.
  • Develop services or products addressing customer needs.
  • Forecast costs and revenue; manage expenditures prudently.
  • Identify new growth opportunities and expand into new segments.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of energy markets and price trends.
  • Form opinions on basin and competitive intelligence.

Business Development Representative – Gas

The Business Development Rep – Gas is responsible for leading substantial projects and transactions while interacting with customers at all levels within their organizations. This role will assist leadership in creating project assignments, supervising work within the group, and providing mentorship on sophisticated business development and origination issues. An extensive range of knowledge regarding the natural gas/oil business and strong problem solving skills are keys to success!

Responsibilities & Expectations
  • Lead large, sophisticated projects with significant risk and complexity to achieve objectives; develop strategy for project execution and handle resource requirements.
  • Negotiate and understand all components of a deal structure; evaluate risk/reward potential and cost/rate of return in combination with other deal terms.
  • Develop innovative services, technologies, processes, or products that address current and future needs of our customers.
  • Identify and estimate contributors to costs; accurately forecast financial information, such as costs and revenue.
  • Make prudent decisions regarding expenditures while using financial and quantitative information to guide actions and performance.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify, evaluate, recommend, and pursue new growth opportunities that will augment our existing business and expand into other segments.
  • Benchmark post‑transaction operating results to acquisition pro‑forma and assist in development of acquisition long‑range forecasts.
  • Demonstrate in depth knowledge of commercial aspects of the energy industry; comprehend energy market fundamentals, trends, and economics across the industry including commodity pricing, basin market fundamentals and competitor strategies.
  • Form opinions and challenge recommendations on basin in addition to customer and competitor intelligence based off third‑party tools and publications.
  • Build strategies for the development of commercial knowledge and exhibit problem‑solving skills for sophisticated issues.
Qualifications
  • Proven expertise in natural gas infrastructure and natural gas marketing, with a specific emphasis on the Western U.S. market.
  • Demonstrated success in customer acquisition and retention in the natural gas sector.
  • Strong existing relationships with producers, end‑users, and infrastructure operators in the natural gas industry.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience; bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related areas of study (required for Business Development Director‑Gas). An MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience; bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related field (required for Business Development Sr‑Gas). Master’s degree in business preferred; minimum 10 years of experience.
Other Requirements
  • Excellent organizational/interpersonal skills; safety as the utmost priority.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills.
  • Knowledge of upstream, midstream, downstream, or renewable assets and industries.
  • Experience with asset development and/or commercial ventures.
