Position Summary :

TEN is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager (BDM) for the Pittsburgh, PA region. This role involves securing contracts, cultivating customer relationships, and driving new business opportunities. The Senior BDM will communicate TEN's value proposition across market segments including Public Sector, Higher Education, Healthcare, and Commercial & Industrial sectors, focusing on energy efficiency solutions. Responsibilities include identifying and qualifying potential projects through a consultative sales approach, aligning solutions with client needs, and coordinating with technical teams to develop project scopes. The Senior BDM will report to the Senior VP of Business Development and will not be restricted to specific vertical markets or products.

Location : Pittsburgh, PA

Responsibilities :

  • Qualify, pursue, and secure new business with municipal, university, school, and hospital targets in the Pittsburgh area that match TEN's capabilities.
  • Understand prospective customer objectives to tailor solutions effectively.
  • Collaborate with TEN's technical team to develop solutions that meet customer needs and demonstrate TEN's value.
  • Work with partners to develop contract strategies to secure new business.
  • Identify potential targets through direct sales, leveraging relationships with suppliers, contractors, and manufacturers, and collaborating with regional engineering firms.
  • Attend trade shows and industry conferences to generate leads and network.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of TEN's business models to recommend the most suitable approach for each customer.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field.
  • At least 10+ years of consultative sales experience, preferably in construction, energy services, or building solutions markets.
  • Familiarity with state procurement legislation.

Manage daily deliverables and long-term process improvements, work independently, and guide less experienced staff on complex issues.

Handle vague problems requiring root cause analysis, drawing on significant experience to make decisions.
