Job description

A Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a crucial role in driving a company's growth by identifying and qualifying potential leads, initiating contact with prospective clients, securing sales calls, and nurturing relationships to generate sales opportunities. They should conduct market research, employ various outreach strategies such as cold calling, emailing, and social media engagement, and work closely with sales and marketing teams to align strategies and ensure a seamless transition of qualified leads. The primary goal of a BDR is to expand the company's customer base, increase revenue, and support overall business development initiatives by creating a robust pipeline of high-quality prospects.

Working Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST (Monday - Friday)

Responsibilities:
  1. Prospecting and Lead Generation: Responsible for identifying and contacting potential customers or clients. This involves researching companies, industries, and individuals to find prospects who could benefit from the company's products or services.
  2. Outreach and Communication: Reach out to prospects via various channels such as cold calling, cold emailing, social media outreach, and networking events. They initiate conversations, qualify leads, and set up meetings or appointments for the sales team.
  3. Qualifying Leads: Assess the suitability of leads by understanding their needs, challenges, budget, decision-making process, and timeline. Qualify leads based on predefined criteria to determine which prospects should be passed on to the sales team.
  4. Educating Prospects: Provide information about the company's products or services to prospects. They explain key features, benefits, and value propositions to help prospects understand how the offerings can solve their problems or fulfill their needs.
  5. Managing CRM and Sales Tools: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of interactions with prospects using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software. Track leads, update contact information, and document relevant details to facilitate smooth handoffs to the sales team.
  6. Collaborating with Sales Team: Work closely with the sales team to strategize on prospecting efforts, share insights from prospect interactions, and coordinate follow-up actions. Participate in team meetings and contribute to sales planning and forecasting.
  7. Metrics and Reporting: Track performance metrics such as the number of calls made, emails sent, meetings scheduled, and conversion rates. Analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of outreach efforts and identify areas for improvement.

Compensation: $12 - $12 an hour
