Accela, a government software provider, is hiring a Business Development Representative for the Kansas City metro area. You will identify and qualify new opportunities, manage inbound and outbound leads, and support Sales with discovery calls and campaign-driven outreach.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities through outbound and inbound prospecting.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets for lead generation and appointment setting.
  • Conduct sales development via email, phone, and social drips using sales automation to connect with prospects.
  • Qualify prospects and set appointments for Discovery calls.
  • Outreach to target prospects in support of Sales and Marketing campaigns.
  • Secure key customer information to identify qualified leads for nurturing.
  • Collaborate with Sales to develop and implement lead generation strategies.
  • Research to find new contacts and add to CRM (Salesforce).
  • Schedule meetings for Field Sales to advance the process.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and assist in preparing Sales materials.

About The Role

The Business Development Representative will be actively involved in outreach to target accounts, inbound leads, and marketing qualified leads with the goal of gathering Sales intelligence and handling early-stage opportunities. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a desire to learn and develop their Sales expertise.

This role will be located in the Kansas City Metro area.

SPECIFIC RESPONDSIBILITIES
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities through outbound and inbound prospecting.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets for lead generation and appointment setting.
  • Conduct Sales development best practices with email, phone, and social drips using sales automation software to build cadences to connect with new prospects.
  • Qualify the prospect and set appointments for the team to conduct Discovery calls.
  • Outreach to target prospects in support of Sales and Marketing campaign initiatives.
  • Secure key customer information to identify qualified “Sales ready” leads and prospective customers to be nurtured for future opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to develop and implement effective strategies for lead generation.
  • Research to find new contacts in customer and prospect accounts and add to SalesForce.
  • Conduct research to understand potential clients' needs and pain points.
  • Schedule meetings and appointments for Field Sales to further the Sales process.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system.
  • Assist in the preparation of Sales materials and presentations.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to achieve and set goals and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong desire to learn.
  • Basic understanding of Sales principles and customer service practices.
  • Ability to travel 10-15%.

  • Familiarity with CRM software.

Compensation And Well-being

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $55,000-65,000 (less applicable taxes). The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience. In addition to an annual base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus target. This is a discretionary bonus awarded based on company and individual goal achievement.
