Job summary

JX Enterprises, Inc. in Bloomington, IL seeks a Business Development Representative to expand dealership growth and market share. You will partner with service, parts, and sales to deliver solutions and cultivate new business through direct calls, visits, and targeted outreach.

Ideal candidates have a marketing/sales background, strong communication, and a willingness to earn through a base salary with commission. CDL is a plus; 21+ with a valid license required.

  • Bachelor's degree or 1–3 years in sales, business development, or marketing.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication across channels.
  • Comfortable soliciting new business and meeting new people.
  • Disciplined with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • CDL preferred, or willing to obtain one.

$48,250/yr-$52,000/yr., depending on experience, plus competitive commission structure

Job Purpose

The Business Development Representative's responsibility is to build market position and facilitate the future growth of the dealership.

Business Development Representative Duties and Responsibilities

As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for working closely with other associates to identify clients and deliver a wide array of solutions to the industry.

Honor Commitment
  • Develop New Retail/Base Business for all areas of our business - Service, Parts, New & Used Truck, Lease & Rental, with all leads passed onto departments or sales executives, demonstrating a commitment to lead generation and supporting the sales team.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and lead generation efforts, ensuring accountability and efficient follow‑up.
Create Positive Experiences
  • Identify potential customers, and build and maintain relationships with the local customer base through customer visits, direct marketing, telemarketing, and cold calls, establishing positive first impressions and building rapport.
  • Make customer calls with service/parts/sales staff to increase JX overall market penetration, collaborating effectively to provide comprehensive solutions and enhance the customer experience.
  • Represent the company professionally and ethically in all interactions with potential customers, building trust and credibility.
Foster Life‑Long Learning
  • Continuously research and analyze the local market to identify potential customers and understand their needs.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and new product/service offerings to effectively communicate the value proposition to potential customers.
  • Seek feedback from customers and colleagues to improve sales techniques and customer engagement strategies.

  • Share insights and recommendations with the sales team to improve overall sales effectiveness and customer acquisition strategies.
Demonstrate Good Stewardship
  • Effectively manage time and resources to maximize productivity and achieve sales goals.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, Automotive Tech, or related field or 1 - 3 years in a sales, business development, or marketing role
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, over the phone, and in person.
  • Comfortable soliciting new business and meeting new people.
  • Disciplined, with good organizational and time management skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills required.
  • Ability to communicate strategically and creatively required
  • Flexible with the ability to work with a variety of customers and their needs
  • Exceptional customer management skills
  • At least 21 years old and must have a valid driver's license with at least a 5 year driving history
  • Commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred, or the ability and willingness to obtain a CDL.
  • Experience in the heavy equipment industry required
  • Knowledge of the transportation/truck industry required
