Summary:

The primary responsibility is to lead and develop sustainability services within the respective regions or globally. She/he will be responsible for leading, developing, and coordinating all regional or global activities in line with the global sustainability (business development) strategy and program deliveries. She/he is part of the Business Stream “Products” Central Sustainability Team and responsible for driving the sustainability business development of different Business Fields to meet the needs of TÜV Rheinland customers regionally and globally.

Specific Responsibilities

60% Business Development

  • Regional responsibility for sustainability business development.
  • Develop specific regional sustainability growth strategies, service portfolios, rollout plans, and roadmaps.
  • Act as technical sales support to the sales teams to grow sustainability services.
  • Support Business Fields in developing regional account strategies, targets, and action plans for sustainability services.
  • Ensure regional strategies are aligned with global peers within TÜV Rheinland.
  • Identify new strategic partnership and stakeholder engagement opportunities focusing on product sustainability.
  • Represent TÜV Rheinland at sustainability conferences and industry events.

40% Project Delivery and Technical Support

  • Support the global sustainability team in developing new services such as Materiality assessments, Product LCA, EPD, DPP, PCF verification, and more.
  • Lead or support sustainability project deliveries including ESG benchmark studies and PCF calculations.
  • Train experts to deliver sustainability services effectively.
  • Develop sales toolkits and SOPs for internal use.
  • Act as the regional technical contact point for sustainability services.
  • Train sales teams on sustainability topics and support project pipeline management.
  • Monitor regional sustainability trends and regulations, informing internal stakeholders and clients regularly.
Candidate Qualifications

Education

  • University degree in environmental science, engineering, material science, chemistry, or related fields.
  • Masters or other degrees related to sustainability/ESG.

Experience and Skills:

  • Passionate about sustainability with broad ESG knowledge.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in sustainability consulting, business development, or leading sustainability programs.
  • Proven effectiveness from strategy to execution.
  • Sector experience in manufacturing electrical, electronic, solar products, and components.
  • Knowledge in eco-efficient products, product carbon reporting, LCA, and relevant regulations like EPR, EU Deforestation Regulation, DPP, etc.
  • Experience with disclosure and assurance processes.
  • Excellent English communication skills across all formats.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to assess and address clients’ sustainability challenges.
  • Strong project management skills and strategic thinking.
  • Self-starter and team player.
