We are looking for a dynamic, energetic, and target-driven Business Development Manager to support delegate recruitment to LCT International’s executive education programmes, both in- classroom and online. Reporting directly to the Director of Business Development , you will have a good knowledge of selling high-value programmes to training and L&D departments of public and private sector organisations. You will have excellent organisational skills and will be a self-starter with experience of working internationally.
Key responsibilities will be to generate revenue from new and existing business relationships and source further business development opportunities through networking and marketing. The role will be multi-faceted and will suit someone who is highly motivated and interested in international and cultural opportunities.
About you
- Minimum of 5 years sales or business development experience within the international education or executive training industry
- University education
- Extensive knowledge of the Sub-Saharan African region & culture
- Fluency in English (C2 level), with additional language competency
- Ability to communicate well with a wide range of audiences
- Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation, presentation and communication skills
- Demonstrable track record as a team player
- Goal-driven and results-oriented profile
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, to meet challenging targets
- Strong organisational and planning skills, self-motivated and committed
- Must be willing to travel extensively throughout the region for up to 15 weeks per year
- Flexibility with working hours including working over weekends when required
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in CRM software is desirable
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Social Media
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Represent LCT International at annual international training seminars and conferences, nationally and internationally
- Support, maintain and develop sales process documentation ie. Spreadsheets or CRM, paying attention to detail and accuracy
- Research and identify new business opportunities - including new clients, growth areas, trends, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of expanding existing markets.
- Work closely with the marketing team to maximise results from new clients, new courses and new business opportunities
- Generate leads through networking, word of mouth, marketing knowledge, market research, LinkedIn, drop-ins and cold call prospective clients
- Meet with customers/clients face to face and over the phone in order to build relationships, gain client information, complete bookings.
- Understand client requirements and respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these. Ensure budget requirements and stakeholder concerns are obtained diplomatically, utilising consultative sales techniques and soft negotiating tactics.
- Keep abreast of trends and changes in the business world, particularly in key Africa (Sub Saharan) markets, anticipating events that will impact sales potential and providing solutions that mitigate impact where appropriate
- Convert opportunities from new leads to bookings made, including responding to all enquiries within 24 hours and providing an outstanding level of customer service
- Promote LCT International on an ongoing basis to generate new leads in the market by working with established and new stakeholders. Explore word of mouth opportunities, maximising these with the marketing team.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including new markets and new industry segment areas. Understand the needs of the currently clients and feedback information to operations and academics to develop new cutting-edge courses (content, titles, structure, locations)
- Present to a range of audiences, including management teams across international organisations and potential delegates
- Evaluate sales and marketing activities in your markets and work within budgetary requirements. Fully contribute to marketing information to influence decision making
- A willingness to travelling across your respective region for 15 weeks per year

Key Performance Indicators
- Achievement of market targets, bookings and completed bookings
- Number of successfully onboarded new clients that send delegates
- Maintenance of high level of service to all stakeholders, YoY client retention rate
- Conversion rates from application to enrolment for delegates coming from all channels
