SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to spearhead our expansion in the Solar and PV Power Plant sector. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the renewable energy landscape, particularly in solar PV technologies, and demonstrate a proven track record in driving business growth, forging strategic partnerships, and navigating complex sales cycles.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Market Expansion: Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in the solar PV and PVPP sectors, focusing on utility-scale projects.
  • Client Engagement: Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including IPPs, EPCs, utilities, financiers, and government agencies.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies aligned with company objectives and market trends.
  • Proposal Development: Lead the preparation of compelling proposals, presentations, and bids, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company capabilities.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms and close agreements to maximize profits while ensuring client satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, finance, and legal, to ensure seamless project execution and client onboarding.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform strategic decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline status, and forecasts using CRM tools.
  • Travel to and participate in various trade shows as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities:
  • Sales/Project experience with utility-scale solar or battery energy storage such as supply chain, engineering, testing, or similar in a B2B capacity.
  • Knowledge of solar PV or BESS testing procedures.
  • Must be articulate, professional, and customer service oriented.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures as well as business practices and product information.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of MS Office.
  • Ability to travel significant amounts of time, including international travel. Valid Passport and Driver's License required.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or a technical discipline such as Engineering or equivalent education and/or experience.
Experience:
5 years of progressive marketing/sales experience in product safety/quality/customer service industry.
SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:
Direct: None
Indirect: May give direction to Associate Business Development Manager and clerical/administrative personnel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Individual must be able to verbally communicate with visitors, employees, and callers. Individual must be able to execute written communications with the use of a computer. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery and computers. While at exhibitions/trade shows, may be required to do some medium lifting for setup and stand for extended periods of time while speaking with vendors and potential clients. Significant travel required.

Significant travel, 50-75%.
