The ideal candidate for this role will be located in the Phoenix, AZ area.

Job Summary:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for providing advanced business intelligence and owning relationships with Builders, Contractors, and Influencers within assigned territories to achieve sales and share growth objectives. This role will maintain market intelligence and work closely with Segment Team, Regional Managers, Key Account Managers, Agency Representatives, Builder National and Regional Offices, and Market Influencers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Own market share growth and drive execution of sales objectives throughout the Region and Territories.
  • Build relationships with Builders, Code Organizations, Inspectors, HERS Raters, Contractors, Energy Consultants, and Influencers to accelerate sales.
  • Understand contact hierarchy and decision makers within Builders and Contractors.
  • Identify Builder’s market position and potential opportunities for Broan-NuTone.
  • Support Builders, Contractors, and Influencers by providing information on ventilation products that meet building codes.
  • Prepare and present product knowledge and technical presentations to promote upgrade opportunities.
  • Provide direction to Contractors and Influencers regarding product needs and servicing conditions.
  • Communicate emerging information on competitive activity and market shifts.
  • Assist Key Account Managers and Agency Reps with installer alignment to Builders’ expectations.
  • Consult with local Engineering and Specification Departments; maintain knowledge of National & Regional codes requirements.
  • Maintain records and submit reports as required, including monthly territory reports and customer correspondence.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and positive attitude.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or equivalent experience.
  • 5 to 7 years of previous experience in a field sales role, preferably in a Construction sales organization.
  • Excellent people skills; effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Strong administrative skills (i.e., Salesforce, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong business acumen and proven experience with a consultative and goal-oriented sales approach.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and love of sales.
  • Highly motivated, disciplined, organized, and detail-oriented.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to spend 90% of daily activity in the field, including job-site visits.
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 25% of the time.
  • Ability to work remotely, with much of your time in the field.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. periodically.
