Job description

This position plays an essential role in the business by assisting with marketing and sales strategies and activities, managing client relations, and delivering service to clients in their daily usage of our platform and solutions. The assistant may also be involved in product development, new product launches, and other aspects of the business.

Location:

Remote, working from home, with occasional travel within the UK.

Term:

Permanent, full-time

Salary:

GBP 25,080 yearly (gross pay, excluding allowances).

Holiday:

28 days including bank holidays.

Schedule:

40 hours per week, flexible working hours, working from home, company events, commission.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. Recruit new merchant users (e.g., restaurants, student accommodation providers, retailers) to use our platform. Assist with onboarding, daily usage, and continuous improvement to ensure value creation and drive business performance.
  2. Implement the company’s sales strategy to generate revenue using methods such as cold calls, online meetings, email marketing, on-site visits, or events. Manage the entire sales process from start to finish.
  3. Establish and maintain long-term relationships with existing merchants while developing new ones.
  4. Support the creation and execution of marketing strategies, collaborating with the team to optimize sales and marketing efforts.
  5. Work with the team on product development and launching new products.
  6. Identify market opportunities, monitor competitors, and suggest improvements for the business.
  7. Report to the director and collaborate within a cross-cultural team environment.

The above list is not exhaustive; additional tasks may be assigned as needed based on the evolving role and business objectives.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience in sales, business development, or account management is preferred; knowledge of the internet industry is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to persuasively communicate and understand customer needs.
  • Comfortable with cold calling, video conferencing, email marketing, and in-person merchant visits.
  • Attention to detail and patience in resolving merchant issues and meeting their needs.
  • Empathy and emotional management skills to maintain a positive attitude in challenging situations.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK for merchant visits.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, email, and other office software.
  • Ability to work under pressure, take ownership of problems, and thrive in an environment where not everything is perfect.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Skills in sales, business development, relationship management, and effective communication.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
