Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking a Business Development Manager II for the Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) area to identify, develop, and capture large aerospace and defense opportunities for DoD, DHS, and international customers. You will lead capture efforts, coordinate with product teams, and mentor junior staff in a hybrid environment in the United States.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
  • 9+ years of experience in business development, defense acquisitions, or a related field.
  • Understanding of DoD military programs and acquisition procedures.
  • Ability to analyze customer requirements, interpret technical concepts, and communicate clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience with technical marketing, proposal development, and program management or engineering design.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to motivate and work with others.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Position Overview

Business Development Manager II – Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area. Responsible for identifying, developing, and capturing major business opportunities within the Aerospace and Defense sector. Engage clients, develop capture strategies, oversee market assessments, and lead end‑to‑end capture activities to secure new business for the U.S. Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers.

Qualifications – You Must Have

Preferred Qualifications
  • Operational experience with U.S. Department of War or U.S. Government mission applications at tactical or strategic level with ground‑based SIGINT, EW, and/or Cyber capabilities.
  • Industry experience supporting U.S. Department of War or U.S. Government mission applications at tactical or strategic level with ground‑based SIGINT, EW, and/or Cyber capabilities.
  • Business development and capture experience supporting international product sales.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. Military.
  • Proficiency with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and advanced market analysis tools.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Certifications in business development or strategic sales.
Essential Functions
  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Regular use of hand/finger dexterity for typing and writing.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Capability to work in an office or hybrid environment.

Security Clearance

Position requires current/active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance; non‑U.S. citizens may not be eligible. Candidates will be screened through the Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF) for eligibility.
