WHAT YOU’LL DO:

MGT seeks a Business Development Manager to partner with an assigned portfolio, identify opportunities, and nurture them into ready opportunities for cross-team evaluation. Reporting to the VP of Market Development and Execution, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development, government contracting, public sector sales, relationship building, and entrepreneurial skills. Project management experience is beneficial given the end-to-end management of the business development process.

The responsibilities include:

Section 1: Business Development
  • Develop deep understanding of Cost Allocation Plans (CAPS), Financial-as-a-Service (FaaS), Indirect Cost Rate Proposals (ICRPs), SB 90 (Mandated Costs), Management Studies, and User Fee Studies.
  • Articulate MGT's Fiscal Solutions value proposition to potential clients, emphasizing expertise and tailored approaches.
  • Own sales and revenue figures in collaboration with the Fiscal Solutions Group.
  • Leverage market research to drive demand, utilizing customer insights, budget evaluations, incumbent analysis, pricing strategies, and procurement forecasting.
  • Maximize sales volume and value, and increase win rates.
  • Ensure pipeline health, build and manage pipeline with partners.
  • Identify new accounts through existing relationships and proactive outreach.
  • Utilize firm infrastructure and client engagement experience to develop new clients.
  • Identify new cooperatives, state-term MSAs, and contract vehicles to support growth.
  • Develop innovative bundling strategies for services to promote a unified approach.
Section 2: Strategic Leadership
  • Collaborate with offshore resources for market intelligence and customer insights.
  • Support inside sales in client discovery meetings.
  • Coordinate with proposals team to develop strategic proposals with maximum impact.
  • Assist in preparing presentations and demonstrations aligned with client needs.
  • Ensure timely delivery of proposals meeting client requirements.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
  • Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of public sector business development experience.
  • Strong background in public sector procurement and government contracting.
  • Knowledge of CRM tools, especially Salesforce.
  • Experience in developing and managing public sector sales strategies.
  • Previous experience in public sector or non-profit organizations.
  • Experience selling professional services to public agencies in small to medium organizations.
  • Willingness to travel for events, sales calls, or meetings as needed.
