Job summary

Stanley Engineered Fastening LLC is seeking a remote Business Development Manager focused on Data Centers. You will be the primary representative to OEMs, driving new business, arranging engineering meetings, and coordinating facility tours to showcase cost-saving, value-added solutions.

Expect heavy travel to customers and prospects within the Data Center market. Key qualifications include a BS in Engineering, proven B2B sales experience with OEMs, and strong communication and negotiation

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering or related field is required.
  • Proven background in B2B sales, distribution, and working with OEMs.
  • Experience in the Data Center market is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of sales and marketing principles.
  • Commercial and prospecting mindset, highly result-driven.
  • Affinity with technical products is a must.

The Job:

As a Business Development Manager, you’ll be part of our Stanley Engineered Fastening Commercial team working as a remote employee. Business Development Managers (BDMs) serve as the primary representatives of our organization at OEMs, focusing on driving new business opportunities. They will schedule meetings with engineers to engage in key design discussions and coordinate production line tours at manufacturing facilities, where they present value-added solutions aimed at reducing total assembly costs. BDMs will dedicate approximately 75% of their time to visiting customers and prospects within the Data Center Market. In the competitive fastener industry, it is essential for BDMs to effectively differentiate both themselves and the organization to achieve success.



  • Utilize existing market intelligence and conduct market research to identify potential customers and understand their needs and preferences

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both existing and prospective customers

  • Create and implement sales strategies to meet business objectives and targets

  • Assess selling opportunities, present relevant products and services, and effectively communicate the value propositions our business offers

  • Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure successful execution of business plans

  • Analyze competitors to identify market trends and uncover new opportunities

  • Negotiate and finalize deals with clients, ensuring favorable terms and conditions

  • Track and analyze sales performance metrics to identify areas for improvement

  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on sales activities, market trends, and competitor analysis

  • Stay updated with industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies to identify new business opportunities

  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking events to build relationships and promote the company's products or services

The Total Target Cash Compensation range for this position is $84,000.00 - $135,200.00. This is the lowest to highest total target cash compensation range we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Total target cash compensation offered may vary depending on multiple factors including job level, geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and in compliance with local wage requirements. This role is eligible for a sales incentive plan or commission. Therefore, the total target cash compensation range is inclusive of base salary and target variable cash compensation. Please note that salary is only one component of total rewards at Stanley Black & Decker. The target cash compensation range listed in this job posting reflects the range for the primary location specified. The cash compensation range may vary for other locations. The successful candidate may be eligible for annual merit increases.
