Job summary

McKinstry is seeking a Business Development Manager - Construction to join its Special Projects Group in Boise, ID. This leader will establish a local Boise presence by developing client relationships, generating work, and delivering successful projects, blending business development, project execution, and market leadership to drive revenue growth.

Qualifications

  • 8–12+ years of experience in mechanical construction or service.
  • Background may include: Project Management; Account Executive Sales or Business Development; Service Manager.
  • Proven success in developing and closing work.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC/mechanical systems, construction contracts and delivery methods, and conceptual estimating.
  • Established local relationships in the Boise market strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a Boise market entry strategy, including identifying target clients, verticals, and growth opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with owners, general contractors, engineers, and consultants to generate and close new work.
  • Lead proposal development, conceptual estimating, presentations, and pipeline management from opportunity identification through contract award.
  • Manage early-stage projects through completion by defining scope, identifying risks, coordinating internal teams, and maintaining accountability for financial, schedule, and client outcomes.
  • Establish the company’s local brand presence, support market scaling decisions, and develop processes and best practices for long‑term growth in the region.

The pay range for this position is $118,170 - $189,090 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
