Description

Hill Bros Logistics, Inc. (HBL)
"Building relationships while delivering opportunities—mile after mile."

POSITION SUMMARY

At Hill Bros Logistics, we move the freight that feeds and fuels North America—from pork meal and corn to road salt and urea. We're hiring a Business Development Manager to grow our bulk freight division, focused on feed, grain, fertilizer, and aggregate commodities. This remote role supports customers across the 48 contiguous U.S. states and Canada.

This is not dry van or reefer. It’s bulk—and we’re looking for someone who knows the difference. If you’ve quoted freight by the ton or bushel, understand the ag supply chain, and know how to build lasting relationships with the Will to Win in rural markets, you’ll fit right in here.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build and grow customer relationships in the feed, grain, fertilizer, and aggregate markets
  • Price freight by weight and product type using your knowledge of tonnage, density, and commodity movement
  • Coordinate closely with internal ops and capacity teams to ensure smooth execution
  • Track opportunities, revenue potential, and customer activity in TMW and CRM systems
  • Stay ahead of market trends, rate shifts, and seasonal patterns in ag and bulk transportation.
Requirements

What You Bring:

  • You’ve sold or brokered bulk freight—not pallets, but products like DDG, pork meal, corn, or urea
  • You know how to rate freight by ton, bushel, or volume, and you're comfortable discussing loads with feed mills, processors, or co-ops
  • You speak the language of farmers, traders, and ag buyers—and you build trust through follow-through
  • You’re confident with freight systems like TMW and CRMs, and you know how to manage your pipeline
  • You enjoy being remote but collaborate well with a team
  • You’re ready to travel occasionally for customer visits or industry events

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience & Skills:

  • 2+ years in bulk freight sales, preferably in ag, feed, fertilizer, or commodity transportation
  • Experience quoting freight by weight, density, or commodity type
  • High school diploma or GED required; further education in ag business, logistics, or supply chain preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, TMW (or similar TMS), and CRM systems

Core Competencies:

  • Owns their pipeline, delivers results, and builds lasting relationships.
  • Understands customer goals and translates them into actionable solutions.
  • Organized, diligent, and confident in navigating bulk logistics challenges.

Education:

  • High school diploma required; further education or relevant certifications preferred.

Why Join Hill Bros Logistics?

  • We're values-led: Tradition. Grit. Service. We, not me.
  • We invest in people and relationships—not just rates
  • Your success helps feed and fuel essential industries across North America
