Business Development Manager

Summary

Mortenson is currently seeking a Business Development Manager responsible for partnering with Nashville office leaders to develop and support positioning strategies with existing and potential customers to secure project work in the AEC/Real Estate industry.


Responsibilities

  1. Manage positioning activities of the business development team, including strategic planning, creating communications and marketing materials, coordinating prequalification efforts, and initiating customer feedback.
  2. Act as the liaison between business development, pre-construction, and marketing; provide market sector insights and perform market trend analysis.
  3. Establish and nurture strategic business partnerships and customer relationships, develop and maintain relationships with partners, and identify new market opportunities.
  4. Convert potential future customers into contacts for market sector leaders and familiarize with customer project estimates to facilitate discussions.
  5. Complete Requests for Proposals with 100% accuracy and compliance with owner specifications.
  6. Lead team members by example, offering effective coaching and feedback, and managing performance.
  7. Build relationships across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
  8. Serve as a liaison to our certified Business community.
Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Minimum five years of industry-related business development experience.
  3. Valid driver's license.
  4. Proven skills in customer relationship building with local/regional business knowledge and relationships.
  5. Successful marketing strategy execution.
  6. Attention to detail for data entry, reporting, financial projections, and market analysis.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management, and CRM web applications.
  8. Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills.
  9. Ability to interpret and communicate company policies.
  10. Effective listening and communication skills, openness to diverse input and feedback.
  11. Willingness to travel up to 30%.

Compensation

The base pay range is $100,500 to $150,800, with higher ranges for specific office locations. Compensation is based on experience, skills, and internal equity. The role is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
