Job description

Clinical Business Development Manager - Cellular Therapy (CAR-T)

Cellular Therapy / CAR-T | Oncology

Location: Boca Raton, FL (Candidates must reside within approximately 60 miles)

Full-Time | Hybrid / Field-Based

Help Bring the Future of Cancer Treatment Closer to Home.

Are you an oncology nursing professional with experience in cellular therapies and a passion for building relationships, developing business, and expanding patient access to innovative treatments?

NexCure is seeking a dynamic, clinically knowledgeable, and business-minded professional to lead physician relations and business development efforts for its emerging South Florida outpatient cellular therapy program.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative, early-stage healthcare organization that is transforming how advanced cancer therapies, including CAR-T, are delivered. Rather than requiring patients to travel to major academic medical centers, NexCure is developing a model that brings these sophisticated, potentially life-saving treatments into accessible, community-based outpatient settings.

We are looking for someone who combines a strong nursing background, hands-on knowledge of cellular therapies, and a proven track record in sales, business development, or physician referral growth.

The Opportunity

As the Clinical Business Development Manager - Cellular Therapy (CAR-T), you will play a pivotal role in establishing NexCure's presence throughout South Florida. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for developing and expanding relationships with hematologists, oncologists, hospital systems, and other healthcare providers to build a strong and sustainable referral network.

This is a highly visible, externally focused business development role - not a traditional clinical nursing position.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable discussing CAR‑T treatment pathways with an oncologist and developing a strategic territory plan to drive referral growth.

What You'll Do
  • Drive Business Development: Identify, cultivate, and expand physician referral relationships to establish a strong pipeline of eligible patients for advanced cellular therapies.
  • Build Strategic Partnerships: Develop relationships with community oncologists, hematologists, hospital leadership, and healthcare organizations throughout South Florida.
  • Leverage Clinical Expertise: Serve as a knowledgeable resource on CAR‑T and cellular therapies, helping physicians understand treatment options, patient eligibility, referral timing, and care pathways.
  • Execute Territory Growth Strategies: Develop and implement targeted sales and business development initiatives to increase physician engagement, referral activity, and market penetration.
  • Lead Physician Education: Coordinate educational programs, clinical presentations, tumor board participation, and other initiatives designed to increase awareness of cellular therapy treatment options.
  • Support Market Launch: Help establish the relationships, referral infrastructure, and strategic partnerships necessary for a successful outpatient clinic launch.
  • Measure Success: Track business development activities, referral opportunities, territory performance, and relationship development through CRM reporting and defined growth objectives.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Nursing background (RN or advanced practice nursing experience) with strong clinical knowledge of oncology and hematology.
  • Experience with cellular therapies, including CAR‑T, and an understanding of the patient journey, treatment protocols, and referral considerations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant oncology experience, ideally combining clinical expertise with sales, physician relations, or business development.
  • Demonstrated success in generating physician referrals, expanding territories, developing new business, or increasing market share.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage physicians and senior healthcare executives.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, strong initiative, and the ability to work independently in a growing organization.
  • Residence within approximately 60 miles of Boca Raton, Florida.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the South Florida territory.
Highly Desirable
  • Prior experience in oncology pharmaceutical or biotechnology sales, cellular therapy account management, physician liaison roles, or oncology service line development.
  • Established relationships with hematologists, oncologists, and cancer treatment centers in South Florida.
  • Experience supporting a new healthcare service line, startup, or market launch.
  • Familiarity with CAR‑T reimbursement, patient access, and treatment center coordination.
Why NexCure?

This is more than a traditional business development position. It is an opportunity to help shape a new model of cancer care.

You'll have the chance to:

  • Join an innovative, early-stage organization backed by RA Capital Management.
  • Work directly with executive and clinical leadership.
  • Play a foundational role in launching a new outpatient cellular therapy program.
  • Make a meaningful impact on patient access to advanced cancer treatments.
  • Help build a business development function with future leadership potential.

NexCure offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary, performance-based bonus, meaningful equity opportunity, comprehensive health benefits, 401(k), paid time off, and automobile allowance.

Interested in Making an Impact?

If you have a nursing background, understand the science and clinical application of cellular therapies, and thrive on building relationships and driving business growth, we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you.

Join NexCure and help bring the next generation of cancer care closer to the patients who need it.
