Job description

The Business Development Executive drives revenue growth for Comfort Temp by identifying, cultivating, and converting new business opportunities across the mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC construction markets. This is a full-cycle, company-wide commercial role: the incumbent builds and maintains relationships with general contractors, owners, architects, engineers, and property managers; generates and qualifies leads; and carries responsibility through proposal development, pricing coordination with Estimating, negotiation, and contract conversion. The role works closely with Marketing, Estimating, Operations, and leadership to help Comfort Temp pursue the right customers and projects, maintain accurate pipeline visibility, and add profitable backlog that can be executed across Gainesville, Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tampa. Success is measured both by disciplined pipeline-building activity and by closed, profitable revenue.

Business Development Strategy
  • Identify, prospect, and cultivate new business opportunities across CTM's target markets, including general contractors, developers, property managers, architects, and engineers.
  • Support the company's business-development plan by identifying priority customers, project types, and market opportunities within assigned territory.
  • Prioritize pursuit of opportunities based on strategic fit, margin, risk, labor capacity, and likelihood of award.
  • Maintain an accurate, current sales pipeline and forecast; report pipeline status, expected awards, win/loss trends, and market intelligence to leadership on a regular cadence.
  • Track and report on market conditions, competitor activity, and emerging project opportunities across assigned Florida markets.
Coordination with Marketing
  • Coordinate with Marketing on customer outreach, events, campaigns, case studies, and qualifications packages that support the funnel.
  • Provide Marketing with customer insights, project examples, and commercial priorities to inform materials and messaging.
  • Help develop and maintain customer-facing presentations and company materials; lead or support presentations to customers, general contractors, owners, and other partners.
  • Represent Comfort Temp at industry associations, trade events, and networking functions.
Coordination with Estimating
  • Partner with Estimating and Preconstruction to scope, price, and position competitive bids and proposals.
  • Participate in recurring estimating and project-funnel reviews; help prioritize which opportunities to pursue.
  • Provide customer intelligence, relationship context, competitive information, and project history to support pursuit strategy.
  • Support scope discussions, pricing discussions, and negotiations while protecting gross-margin and risk expectations.
  • Ensure customer commitments and negotiated terms are clearly communicated before handoff.
Existing Client Management
  • Maintain and grow relationships with an assigned book of existing clients.
  • Conduct regular, meaningful contact with clients to identify upcoming opportunities, concerns, and relationship risks.
  • Support repeat work and expansion into additional service lines or markets.
  • Track retention and repeat awards generated by managed accounts.
New Client Development
  • Identify and pursue new customers that fit Comfort Temp's target profile.
  • Build relationships with prospective clients ahead of individual project releases.
  • Convert new relationships into qualified opportunities and profitable awarded work.
  • Prioritize customers that can produce repeatable work, not only one-time projects.
  • Manage the full opportunity lifecycle in CRM: lead generation, qualification, relationship cultivation, proposal support, negotiation, and close.
  • Maintain current, accurate records for assigned accounts and opportunities, including revenue, backlog, margin, and relationship status.
  • Provide leadership with reliable visibility into pipeline, forecast, and account activity.
Project Handoff
  • Support contract negotiation and formal hand-off to Operations/Project Management upon award, ensuring a clean transition of client relationship and project expectations.
  • Communicate negotiated scope, price, exclusions, assumptions, schedule, and customer commitments at handoff.
  • Participate in kickoff or handoff meetings for significant projects and remain available to support the customer relationship after award where appropriate.
General
  • Meet or exceed assigned individual revenue, new-logo, and pipeline-growth targets.
  • Represent Comfort Temp's brand, safety culture, and values in all client-facing interactions.
