Job description

Business Development Director – High-Res Mass Spectrometry

East Coast – fully remote

Looking for a real ‘hunter’ with the ability to open doors in the Academic and Pharma / Biopharma markets throughout North America. Candidates must possess a strong technical background in mass spec, ideally with experience in Multi-Omics analysis (Metabolomics, Lipidomics, or Proteomics).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong value-proposition for expanding the sales of new and novel mass spec instruments to the research community
  • Work strategically with sales and marketing to educate customers on product advantages
  • Advise the field sales organization on how best to pitch new technology; assist with customer visits and outreach events
  • Serve as a technical expert on recently launched mass spectrometers / software, specifically in the field of Multi-Omics
  • Facilitate collaborations with KOLs on new applications and high impact research specific to high-res mass spec

Primary Qualifications

  • Minimum of a BSc degree in a relevant scientific discipline (MSc/PhD preferred)
  • Fundamental knowledge of both small and large molecule mass-spec applications
  • Prior Sales, Business Development, and/or other commercial experience is desired
  • Ability to travel nationwide ~50%

Salary / Benefits

  • $140-160K annual base salary + commission
  • Health / Dental / Vision + 401k with match
