Job Type: Full-Time

Location: Remote, residing in Florida is required

Job Summary

The Business Development Director is responsible for business development, including building new health insurance broker relationships and client bases for Flores, and strengthening the firm’s reputation. The director interprets our system capabilities and services for clients and is the first point of contact for new clients, reporting to the Senior Vice President of Sales.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and grow relationships within your territory with brokers and consultants to ensure Flores is a preferred solution.
  • Act as a consultant, educating brokers and clients to drive value in COBRA, Compliance, CDH, and FMLA space.
  • Define client needs, propose solutions, negotiate, and secure buy-in to win new business.
  • Maintain technical knowledge of relevant regulations and address broker and client questions.
  • Provide high-level customer service, field questions, and recognize industry changes.
  • Research legal and technical questions using internal and external resources.
  • Partner with marketing to ensure consistent messaging.
  • Adhere to sales processes, maintain accurate records in CRM, and collaborate across teams.
  • Travel approximately 25-40% for client visits, conferences, and meetings.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of experience in benefits administration, health/welfare benefits, HR, or related fields.
  • Proven sales success, especially in health and welfare benefits.
  • Existing network of broker, TPA, or carrier relationships.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, with a hunter mentality and a desire for growth.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • High customer service orientation.

Work Environment

This role is mostly sedentary, involving sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and traveling as needed. Requires effective communication and use of common office tools and software.
