Position Summary

The Business Development Director is responsible for leading all aspects of the sales process, including prospect targeting, developing sales strategies, and managing pursuit teams. This role involves building strong sales pipelines, conducting presentations, closing sales, and working closely with industry and line of business leaders to drive growth in the Non-Profit sector.

Responsibilities
  1. Sourcing and qualifying new opportunities within the non-profit sector.
  2. Executing the sales plan and coordinating internal and external resources.
  3. Networking with professional contacts, industry groups, and associations.
  4. Building and maintaining sales pipelines and forecasts.
  5. Collaborating with staff and industry leaders to address marketplace needs.
  6. Supporting cross-selling initiatives and developing targeted marketing plans.
  7. Preparing and delivering presentations and proposals.
  8. Closing sales and finalizing client agreements.
  9. Leading cross-functional teams on market opportunities.
  10. Leveraging industry and technical resources for new opportunities.
  11. Working collaboratively across RSM to deliver comprehensive solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of successful sales experience in professional services, specifically in the non-profit sector.
  • Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles involving multiple decision-makers, including C-suite executives.
  • Strong network of Centers of Influence in banking, legal, and professional services.
  • Experience with CRM tools and social media for networking and sales tracking.
  • Excellent negotiation, influence, and business acumen skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active involvement in community, industry associations, or non-profit groups.
  • Experience with large regional or national professional service firms.
  • Strong communication, presentation, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented sales team.
  • Active C-level network contacts.
