Job Description Summary

As a member of Transamerica Retirement Solutions, the Business Development Director is responsible for wholesaling qualified retirement plans to small and mid-sized markets through all channels of financial intermediaries including banks, wire houses, regional broker dealers, employee benefit firms, etc. Works within an assigned territory to meet company objectives as a market leader.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect for new clients within an assigned territory to achieve sales goals.
  • Execute on advisor training sessions such as branch meetings, lunch & learns, walk-throughs, CEs, etc.
  • Develop a network of new relationships with advisors, consultants, and other third party intermediaries focused on the retirement industry.
  • Execute finalist meetings and/or webcast demonstrations as requested by Transamerica RVP.
  • Participate in proactive marketing campaigns.
  • Network with (leverage) targeted TPA’s to develop new and ongoing retirement sales.

  • Life & Health License
  • In-depth understanding of the retirement market and ERISA
  • Self-motivated with an instinctive sales acumen to organize thoughts and actions to meet sales goals
  • Outstanding interpersonal, public speaking and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage resources and to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Technical skills to use state-of-the-art tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in the retirement plan industry

Working Conditions

  • Work remote from home
  • Extensive travel to meet with prospects, advisors, and key intermediaries in the territory

Compensation Information

Total compensation is targeted at $150,000 per year. The base for this position is generally between $75,000 in annual base pay. This position is also currently eligible for sales and/or performance incentives. Specifics will be reflected in individual incentive plan documents. The commission variable target is $75,000, paid monthly based on applicable sales incentive plan(s).
