Jonas is headquartered in Canada and is a 100% owned subsidiary of Constellation Software Inc., traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

The Position

As a Business Development Associate at Jonas Software, you will play a crucial role in sourcing and developing our acquisition pipeline—researching industry verticals, identifying acquisition targets, and building relationships with founders and executives of vertical market software businesses. You will report to the Director of Business Development and work closely with the portfolio’s senior management team. You will be successful in this role if you are a people-person, have solid business acumen, love to continuously learn, and have a passion for creating and maintaining relationships. Financial literacy and an understanding of software and technology businesses are assets.

Impact

  • Identify, research, and map software markets to find attractive acquisition targets

  • Develop and execute prospecting campaigns through email, outbound calling, and in-person meetings, while effectively communicating our M&A value propositions

  • Clearly communicate the investment strategy, ensuring the investment process is handled with care and professionalism

  • Continuously research new industries, sub-sectors, and trends to spot emerging opportunities and provide value to the targets you engage with

  • Build and maintain relationships with software founders, owners, and decision-makers

  • Track all interactions, data, and insights in Salesforce, maintaining CRM hygiene

  • Analyze outreach performance and iterate on campaigns to improve engagement rates

  • Coordinate with the M&A Execution team to advance qualified opportunities through diligence and deal execution

What we’re looking for

You are:

  • A self-starter with excellent prioritization and multitasking abilities who thrives on new challenges and takes initiative

  • A natural relationship builder who enjoys conversations and understands how to connect with founders

  • A curious learner with the ability to quickly understand different business models and industries

  • An organized operator who takes pride in tracking details, setting reminders, and keeping pipelines clean

  • Energized by measurable goals, outreach KPIs, and moving deals forward.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or M&A sourcing

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a personable, professional phone manner

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research, develop prospect lists, and generate actionable insights

  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Outreach.io, or Apollo is a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance. MBA or graduate education is a plus but not required

What we offer
  • 3 weeks' vacation and 5 personal days

  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental and Vision coverage from your first day of employment

  • Flexible work options (with some work from home options)
