Builders & Tradesman Insurance Services, Inc. (BTIS) is GROWING! We are a nationwide wholesale insurance company based in Rocklin, California.

The Business Development Associate is a commercial insurance product specialist. Business development specialists are responsible for helping develop business by educating customers on products, uncovering customer needs, and providing product solutions.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage with customers via telephone, email, chat, webinars, and tradeshows.
  • Build relationships to increase sales while providing a superior customer experience.
  • Engage in superior customer service with all internal team members and external customers.
  • Maintain client relationships through regular contact and customer service.
  • Make contacts with potential clients to create new business opportunities.
  • Find solutions to client problems.
  • Educate clients on new technologies available to them.
  • Keep up with changes in client environments.
  • Understand all of the company’s service offerings and clearly communicate them to clients and prospective clients.
  • Attend trade shows, seminars, conferences, and industry training programs.
  • Read publications regarding emerging markets and trends in technology.
  • Recommend short-term and long-term strategies for business expansion through new product lines or enhanced marketing techniques.
  • Assist with the development of brochures and other marketing literature.
  • Assist with website content.
  • Establish and maintain knowledge of products and service offerings.
  • Analyze corporate data to identify trends.
  • Resolve client complaints.
  • Coordinate with other associates to increase sales.
  • Make sales calls and follow up.
  • Generate sales reports and analyze numbers.
  • Schedule meetings and presentations.
  • Assist with or conduct presentations for prospective clients.
  • Keep client database current.
  • Keep prospective client database updated.
  • Participate in continuing education courses to stay abreast of technology and trends pertinent to the industry.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE)

  • Proven track record of strong presentation skills and possess a strong record of business-to-business sales. Ability to call potential clients with confidence are all key.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification is recommended, but a proven background in business development may be sufficient.
  • At least 3 years of exceptional sales experience is preferred.
  • Experience in the Insurance industry is preferred.

Pay Range

$21 - $25 and will depend on several factors including geographical location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge pertaining to this role and industry.
