Alexandria, VA | Part-Time | Field-Based
$28–$35 per hour + Performance Incentives
Approximately 20–25 hours per week
Opportunity to Grow into a Full-Time Position

Transitioning Service Members and Veterans Strongly Encouraged to Apply

Build Relationships. Create Opportunities. Help Us Grow.

CareBuilders at Home of Alexandria is a growing non-medical home care organization serving seniors, adults with disabilities, veterans, and families throughout Northern Virginia.

We are seeking a motivated, relationship-driven, technology-forward Home Care Business Development Specialist to help expand our community presence, strengthen strategic partnerships, identify new business opportunities, and support sustainable growth.

This is not simply a community outreach position. It is a results-oriented business development role focused on developing productive relationships that lead to qualified referrals, new clients, and long-term growth.

You will work directly with ownership and leadership to identify opportunities, develop professional relationships, participate in presentations and community events, support strategic partnerships, and help convert opportunities into new business.

The position will begin part-time, with the opportunity to grow into a full-time business development position as individual performance and company growth support expansion.

What You'll Do
  • Identify and develop relationships with referral sources, strategic partners, and community organizations.

  • Build relationships with hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, senior living communities, home health and hospice organizations, physician practices, care managers, elder-law professionals, and other organizations serving seniors and families.

  • Research and identify networking opportunities, presentations, educational programs, community events, conferences, and strategic partnerships where CareBuilders at Home should have a presence.

  • Coordinate and participate in meetings, presentations, networking opportunities, community events, and outreach activities with ownership and leadership.

  • Strengthen existing relationships while independently developing new referral sources and business opportunities.

  • Maintain consistent and professional follow-up with referral partners, prospects, and community contacts.

  • Help move qualified opportunities from initial relationship through referral, assessment, and start of care.

  • Maintain an organized and measurable business-development pipeline.

  • Accurately track contacts, activities, opportunities, referrals, follow-ups, and outcomes within the CRM.

  • Use LinkedIn, social media, digital prospecting, and other tools to research organizations and decision-makers and support relationship development.

  • Help maintain consistent business-development and community-marketing activity.

  • Track the relationships and activities that contribute to qualified referrals, new clients, billable hours, and revenue.

AI, CRM & Technology

Technology is an important part of how we intend to build and scale our business-development function.

The successful candidate should be highly comfortable leveraging artificial intelligence as an everyday business tool, alongside CRM, email, social media, and other essential business technologies.

You should be comfortable using AI throughout your work to support activities such as:

  • Prospect and referral-source research

  • Market and account research

  • Meeting and presentation preparation

  • Prospect prioritization

  • Professional communications and follow-up

  • CRM and pipeline management

  • Social media and digital outreach

  • Marketing and content support

  • Business-development planning

  • Workflow improvement and automation

  • Agentic AI processes

We are not looking for a programmer or AI engineer. We are looking for someone who naturally leverages AI and technology to become more productive, organized, informed, and effective.

You should also be curious about emerging technologies and willing to identify better ways for our team to prospect, communicate, follow up, manage relationships, and grow.

Veteran & Military Community Outreach

An important secondary focus of this position will be helping CareBuilders at Home strengthen relationships within the veteran and military community.

You will help identify and develop relationships with veteran-serving organizations, professional partners, community resources, and organizations supporting veterans and their families.

Veteran outreach represents an important growth opportunity for CareBuilders at Home, but it is not the entire position. You will also support our broader healthcare, senior-care, professional, and community business-development strategy.

Transitioning Service Members & Veterans

Transitioning service members and veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.

We value the leadership, accountability, adaptability, communication, initiative, and mission-focused experience developed through military service.

Military experience in areas such as recruiting and retention, public affairs, healthcare, operations, human resources, civil affairs, community engagement, leadership, or other relationship-focused assignments may translate particularly well to this position.

Traditional civilian sales experience is not required for candidates who can demonstrate strong transferable skills, including the ability to build relationships, communicate professionally, take initiative, independently pursue opportunities, follow through, learn quickly, leverage technology effectively, and work toward measurable objectives.

Military and other transferable professional experience may be considered in place of traditional business-development experience.

What We're Looking For

The right candidate will be:

  • Relationship-oriented and comfortable meeting new people

  • Professional and confident representing the company in the community

  • Self-directed and capable of working independently

  • Proactive about identifying and pursuing opportunities

  • Organized and disciplined about follow-up

  • Comfortable working toward measurable business-development objectives

  • Highly comfortable leveraging CRM systems, AI, digital tools, and social media as part of everyday work

  • Able to learn quickly and apply feedback

  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating directly with ownership and leadership

  • Interested in growing professionally as the organization grows

Previous experience in business development, recruiting, account management, community relations, healthcare, marketing, outside sales, military/community outreach, or professional relationship management is helpful but not required.

A valid driver's license and the ability to travel throughout the Northern Virginia market are required.

Compensation & Performance Incentives

Hourly Pay: $28–$35 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Schedule: Approximately 20-25 hours per week.

In addition to hourly compensation, this position offers performance-based commission and incentive opportunities.

Grow With Us

CareBuilders at Home of Alexandria is growing, and this position is intentionally designed to grow with the organization.

You will work closely with ownership and leadership and gain exposure to the activities involved in building and scaling a business, including sales, marketing, strategic partnerships, technology, operations, and growth planning.

This opportunity includes:

  • Direct mentorship and collaboration with ownership and leadership

  • Exposure to business operations and growth strategy

  • Hands‑on use of CRM, AI, social media, automation, and emerging technologies

  • Participation in professional meetings, presentations, networking, and community events

  • The opportunity to help build a business-development function rather than simply inherit one

  • Increasing responsibility based on demonstrated capability and results

  • Potential to transition into a full-time position as performance and company growth support expansion.

For someone interested in business development, entrepreneurship, technology, healthcare, or future leadership opportunities, this position provides the opportunity to learn by helping build something.

For the right person, we want this to become more than a part‑time job. We want it to become a career growth opportunity.

At CareBuilders at Home, “Love is in the Care.”
