Business Development Analyst – Franklin, TN (Remote)

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for healthy, sustainable water management, a strong background in research and analytics, the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data to support business development initiatives, and an interest in start-up company experience. Aries builds, owns, and operates sewage sludge gasification plants. This role supports identifying where Aries sites its next facilities. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, independence, and the ability to communicate findings effectively.

Key Responsibilities and Important Duties
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape in the wastewater industry.
  • Follow Federal, State, and Local regulations in relation to key interest points like renewable energy tax credits, biosolids (sludge) disposal management, forever chemicals (PFAS/PFOS), and more.
  • Analyze data from various sources to provide actionable insights for business strategies.
  • Develop and maintain databases to track key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the company’s business development strategy and projects.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate research findings and recommendations.
  • Monitor industry developments and provide regular updates to the team.
  • Monitor and track industry advocacy and opposition groups.
  • Monitor local and regional biosolids markets and competitors to help determine Aries’s corresponding business strategy.
  • Track municipal Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for sludge disposal from Wastewater Treatment Plants to identify opportunities
  • Research and track funding opportunities applicable to our business, such as grants and loan programs.
  • Support, maintain, and take action on lead tracking system
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and a minor/focus in Environmental Studies or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in research and analytics, preferably in a business development context.
  • Highly skilled in using products like Excel, AI, SQL, Tableau/Zoho or other data visualization tools, and proficient in quantitative methods, mapping, and data layering.
  • Experience with CRM software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
