Business Controls Manager – Global Third Party Operations

Job Description:

This job is responsible for leading and executing on internal control discipline and operational excellence within a Line of Business (LOB) or Enterprise Control Function (ECF). Key responsibilities include executing LOB or ECF processes and tools to drive adherence to enterprise-wide standards. Job expectations include supporting the implementation of quality assurance and quality control processes within the LOB or ECF through ongoing monitoring and testing of controls, identifying issues and control improvements for remediation, and building out actions plans and milestones.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the assessment of the application performance and effectiveness of the application environment to ensure system stability and integrity is maintained from the external third party vendor through the channels into the bank downstream systems.
  • Performs reviews and monitoring of controls or reports, identifying issues and control improvements for remediation of risk or system anomalies that create risk.
  • Ensures timely execution of application reviews and activities including system performance review, case management, and results reporting.
  • Participates and manages operations front line unit responses for regulatory exams, internal audits, and other monitoring and inspection reviews.
  • Ensures accuracy of data and that relevant information is captured for metrics to support governance for dashboard, application and relevant vendor or ASK reporting.
  • Developing and managing strong relationships with the technology teams, GCOR and Control Partners, ensuring partnership on all releases and deliverables.
  • Continuously assessing and enhancing Third Party processes, improving the quality and execution of application efforts, and identifying new approaches to improve effectiveness and realize efficiencies.
  • Drive improvements in processes/tools related to data collection and reporting.
  • Identifying, assessing and communicating emerging themes and trends based on various information gathering methodologies, sources and through overseeing various business controls and central reporting activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Third Party Operations / Accounts Payable support, related Vendor Management background, Risk Management or related discipline with a Third Party support function.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build and cultivate relationships both externally and internally and at all levels within the organization or outside the bank as needed.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to unexpected events, prioritize and multi-task in a deadline driven environment.
  • Seasoned Excel Skills to include Pivot Tables and VLookup capabilities.
  • Ability to support and create effective Word, PowerPoint and Visio documents.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; ability to simplify and summarize complex topics.
  • Strategic thinker, self-starter, organized, versatile, and capable of performing work with minimal management oversight.
  • Ability to connect the dots across silos upstream and downstream from Third Party application and data flows.
  • Think outside of the box and demonstrate an enterprise mindset.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Agile awareness or background with training and experience.
  • Sourcing, Vendor Management or Third Party testing related background.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.

Pay Transparency details:

Pay range: $107,700.00 - $160,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set. Discretionary incentive eligible. This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
