Job summary

Zions Bancorporation is seeking a Business Continuity Plan Coordinator to join the Midvale, UT office. You will coordinate BIAs, risk assessments, and recovery strategies while partnering with business units and senior stakeholders to strengthen enterprise resilience.

This role sits within the Enterprise Business Resilience program and involves managing exercises, documentation, and regulatory/audit compliance to protect operations during disruptions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate business continuity lifecycle activities (BIA, strategy development, plan maintenance, annual updates, exercises, after-action reviews)
• Lead planning with assigned business units through BIAs, risk discussions, and recovery strategies
• Lead BIAs and risk assessments to evaluate processes, dependencies, and recovery capabilities
• Document tabletop and simulation-based exercises across business lines and functions
• Maintain program documentation, dashboards, and compliance records for regulatory/audit needs
• Track and report continuity metrics, remediation items, and readiness indicators
• Develop data-driven insights on resilience posture, emerging risks, and program performance
• Support activation of the Crisis Management Framework and communication logs
• Collaborate with Disaster Recovery, Security, Supplier Resilience, and Operational Risk teams
• Participate in platform roadmap work (Fusion, Archer, ServiceNow) and process optimization

We are currently seeking a Business Continuity Plan Coordinator to join our team in the Midvale, Utah office location.

As a Business Continuity Coordinator, you will play a critical role in strengthening the bank’s ability to withstand, respond to, and recover from disruptive events.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in business continuity fundamentals, operational risk, disaster recovery, or related disciplines - who is ready to take ownership, grow into a trusted partner to the business, and contribute to a program that has full executive and board visibility.

The ideal candidate for this position will have the skills and experience to:

• Coordinate business continuity lifecycle activities (BIA, strategy development, plan maintenance and development, annual updates, exercises, after-action reviews, corrective actions).
• Serve as a primary planning partner for assigned business units - guiding them through BIAs, risk discussions, recovery strategies, and professionally translate program expectations to the business.
• Lead facilitated business impact assessments (BIA) and risk assessments to evaluate critical processes, dependencies, recovery capabilities and proactively identify risk.
• Support the design, facilitation, and documentation of tabletop and simulation-based exercises across assigned business lines and functional areas.
• Maintain program documentation, dashboards, and compliance records to support regulatory and audit requirements (FFIEC, OCC, Internal Audit).
• Track and report on business continuity metrics, remediation items, after actions, and readiness indicators for leadership.
• Help develop and mature data-driven insights around resilience posture, emerging risks, and program performance.
• Support activation of the Crisis Management Framework, including status tracking, communication logs, and response coordination.
• Contribute to after-action reviews and ensure lessons learned are translated into lasting program improvements.
• Work alongside Disaster Recovery, Corporate Security, Supplier Resilience, and Operational Risk teams to advance a unified, enterprise-wide approach to resilience.
• Participate in platform roadmap work (e.g., Fusion, Archer, ServiceNow, etc.), process optimization, automation, and workflow upgrades.

Qualifications - Required:

• 2-4+ years of experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, operational risk, emergency management, or a related field
• Ability to work professionally and confidently with business partners at multiple levels, including managers, department leaders, and executives as a trusted partner.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines at the same time
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate technical requirements into plain-language guidance
• Analytical mindset: able to interpret risk, recovery, and operational data and turn it into actionable insights
• Ability to perform under pressure, remain composed during real-world incidents, and make efficient sound decisions, sometimes with incomplete information as events unfold
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Platforms (Excel, Word, PPT, SharePoint)

Qualifications - Preferred:

• Certifications (ABCP, CBCP, MBCI, ISO lead implementer, etc.) or desire to obtain one
• Experience in banking, financial services, or another regulated industry
• Familiarity with FFIEC, ISO 22301, NIST, or other continuity/resilience frameworks
• Familiarity with business continuity tools (Fusion, Archer, ServiceNow, etc.)
