About the Role

We are seeking a Business Continuity & Insurance Manager to lead and enhance our enterprise insurance, claims management, and business continuity programs.

This newly created leadership role will serve as the subject matter expert for insurance coverage, claims recovery, operational resilience, and continuity planning. The successful candidate will help protect the organization from operational, financial, technology, logistics, and strategic risks while ensuring the company is prepared to respond effectively to disruptive events.

As a large eCommerce retailer operating fulfillment centers, distribution facilities, and multiple technology environments, we are looking for a professional who can balance strategic planning with hands on execution.

What You'll Do

Insurance Program Management

• Manage the company's insurance portfolio, including carrier and broker relationships
• Review coverage adequacy and identify potential gaps
• Recommend enhancements to support evolving business, technology, logistics, and operational risks
• Serve as the primary internal advisor on insurance and risk transfer strategies

Claims Management & Recovery

• Establish and manage enterprise-wide insurance claims processes
• Coordinate claims from initial reporting through resolution and settlement
• Maximize insurance recoveries across all eligible claims
• Manage carrier communications, negotiations, documentation, and recovery tracking
• Review denied or partially reimbursed claims and pursue additional recovery opportunities
• Develop reporting and metrics related to claims performance and recoveries

Inventory & Logistics Claims

• Oversee inventory-related insurance matters throughout the supply chain
• Manage claims involving:
  • Inbound shipments
  • Warehouse inventory
  • Inventory transfers
  • Outbound customer shipments
• Partner with Logistics, Finance, and Operations teams to identify and document losses for recovery

Business Continuity & Operational Resilience

• Design and build the company's Business Continuity Program
• Conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIAs)
• Develop continuity, recovery, and contingency plans
• Identify critical business functions, dependencies, and recovery priorities
• Coordinate continuity planning with IT disaster recovery capabilities
• Lead tabletop exercises, testing programs, and recovery simulations
• Deliver employee training and resilience awareness programs

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Partner with Finance, Warehouse Operations, Facilities, Information Security, Human Resources, Legal, and Logistics teams
• Establish incident reporting and escalation processes
• Promote company-wide awareness of insurance reporting requirements and recovery opportunities

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, Emergency Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• Experience in eCommerce, retail, logistics, warehousing, distribution, or supply chain operations
• Experience managing transportation, cargo, inventory, or warehouse-related claims
• Experience developing or managing business continuity programsExperience working with technology infrastructure and disaster recovery planning
