Overview

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Business Consultant through October 10th at 11:59 p.m.

Role

This position in Chevron’s Lubricants organization is focused solely on lead generation and opportunity development, to cultivate and maintain a balanced sales pipeline leading to business acquisition. The Business Consultant (BC) is responsible for meeting sales targets and increasing Chevron's market share by growing our Chevron branded lubricants in the lubrication indirect sales channels include but are not limited to California, Texas and Utah.

Responsibilities

Works with Chevron Lubricants Marketers with responsibility for new account acquisition and business development, growing branded lubricants in the specified area. Conducts lead generation and create sales pipeline to meet volume and profitability goals. Use Salesforce.com to manage pipeline, document activities, and maintain customer data. Uses Challenger, value-based selling, and technical expertise to move opportunities through the sales process, identifying customer needs and Chevron solutions that deliver value. In partnership with marketers’ sellers, conducts site assessments, research technical issues as needed. Able to quantify and communicate value in sales pitch. Negotiates offer details, presents offer, closes the sale, and revises proposal and contract, as needed. Works collaboratively with Sales Deal Desk to establish pricing. Role is home-office based in San Ramon CA, Sacramento CA, San Diego CA, Houston TX or Salt Lake City UT within 50 miles of a major airport.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of sales experience.
  • Proven ability to close new business.
  • Availability to travel often.
  • Demonstrated industry knowledge to build credibility and target the offer.
  • Understands customer value drivers
  • Ability to develop offers and negotiate contracts to maximize customer value to Chevron.
  • Experience in using and managing a CRM system.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent ability to identify and meet customer needs.
  • Excellent at building relationships within all levels of customer organization.
  • Comfortable discussing pricing and money.
  • Have a valid Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of five (5) years of business-to-business sales experience.
  • Understands Oil & Gas segment (equipment), especially Gas Compression.

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $88,900 – $230,900.
