Position Overview

This position is primarily responsible for establishing banking relationships with middle market business customers in and around the region and managing a business banking team. The incumbent supervises and develops the team to maintain and grow the loan portfolio and enhance customer relationships. The incumbent builds and maintains a portfolio and client base, including new business development, and meets business banking clients’ financial service needs.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Establish banking relationships with lower middle market customers within the assigned geographical location.
  • Build and maintain a portfolio and client base, including new business development and meeting corporate clients’ financial service needs through cross‑selling and consultation.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow own client base.
  • Manage assigned relationship managers and work with direct reports to achieve results set forth in the Bank’s strategic plan.
  • Participate in developing marketing and sales plans with direct reports.
  • Refer business opportunities to business partners at Wealth Management, Insurance, Treasury Management, and other products and services offered by the corporation.
  • Monitor and proactively manage team and personal portfolio credit quality, and monitor team portfolio reports.
  • Review term sheets and preview memorandums and credit packages for approval and presentation to the loan committee.
  • Maintain team compliance with operating policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review market research to determine customer needs, volume potential, and competitive strategies.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
  • Serve as risk managers for their businesses by understanding, reporting, responding to, managing, and monitoring the risks encountered daily as required by the risk management program.
