Qualifications

  • Ability to work quickly and accurately, analyze information and make decisions.
  • Ability to operate various office equipment (email, scan, fax, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Answer inquiries from merchants, assess their needs, research problems, and explain procedures and regulations.
  • Order equipment and supplies as necessary; maintain inventory.
  • Ensure merchant services are provided and terminals are installed and working; program and train merchants.
  • Act as liaison between the company and merchants; manage supplies and advertising materials.
  • Keep merchants informed of new or revised services.
  • Process entries and billing updates; prepare adjustments to merchant accounts.
  • Post General Ledger entries for charge backs and supplies.
  • Maintain knowledge of compliance and regulatory issues related to customer service (BSA, Reg CC, E, DD, P, etc.).
  • Understand security procedures and post-robbery procedures; keep work area neat and secure cash and records.
  • Provide exemplary customer service in person and by phone; listen actively and stay professional.
  • Resolve difficult situations with tact; seek to make customers feel valued.
  • Maintain knowledge of all bank products and services.
  • Work with manager to set and reach goals; refer to other units for banking products; participate in sales programs and STEP program.
  • May occasionally work outside the office as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs a variety of administrative duties. Assists the customer in any way possible. Explores customer needs and cross-sells services that are in the best interest of the customer. Provides superior service to customers. Conducts relationships and activities consistent with established Bank policies, procedures and systems, the corporate code of conduct, Bank Secrecy Act and all applicable State and Federal laws and regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Answer inquiries from merchants, assess their needs, research problems, and explain procedures and regulations.

Order equipment and supplies as necessary. Maintain and manage proper inventory supply.

Ensure merchant services are fully provided and terminals are installed and working properly. Program, setup equipment, and train merchants.

Act as liaison between the company and the merchants; assist with the maintenance of appropriate supplies and advertising materials.

Assist in keeping the merchant informed of new, revised, or expanded services.

Process entries and billing updates and prepare adjustment to merchant accounts.

Entries for General Ledger accounts for charge backs and supplies.

Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of compliance and regulatory issues relating to customer service areas (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, Regulations CC, E, DD, P, etc.) evidenced by appropriate application of these regulations in day-to-day operations.

Acquire and maintain thorough understanding of security procedures; practice established procedures. Understand role in case of robbery and know proper post-robbery procedures.

Maintain neat and orderly work area and ensure that all cash, negotiables and confidential records are secured and/or disposed of properly.

Consistently demonstrate proficiency in providing exemplary customer service in person and by telephone. Actively listen to customers and maintain a friendly, positive and professional attitude.

Resolve difficult situations with tact and diplomacy. Look for creative ways to make customers feel appreciated and special.

Acquire and maintain knowledge of all bank products and services.

Work with manager to set goals and make every effort to reach targeted goals. Make referrals to other business units for traditional and non-traditional banking products and services. Participate in sales programs to generate new customers. Actively participate in STEP program.

May occasionally work outside the office on an as needed basis.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Attend all required training. Assist others in the department/facility as needed and/or directed. Be on call every other weekend, or rotating weekends opposite of Business Banking Representative. May be assigned other duties and responsibilities.

This position starts at $22.58 an hour and can increase from there depending on experience.
