Job description

The Business Analytics Manager leads the formulation of hypotheses, translation of data, design/measurement of experiments and generation of insights to inform business decisions using data mining techniques. The role uses data to perform complex diagnostic analyses to answer questions such as "Why did it happen?" and "What action can I take?" The Manager guides a team and/or project through advanced reporting and execution of complex analyses, maps processes and applies necessary controls, and uses business, industry and benchmark data to identify and anticipate business needs and opportunities. The role proactively manages partners and solves multiple problems for the business, delivering holistic analyses to enable strategy and communicating effectively with stakeholders.

Essential Functions

• Proactively solve business problems leveraging complex data
• Leverage knowledge of KeyCorp and LOB strategy, business and competition to anticipate needs and make recommendations
• Drive projects end to end; prioritize multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
• Review deliverables and coach others on approach and work product
• Lead business partner interactions; drive for results and provide recommendations aligned with business priorities; communicate with team and partners
• Address challenging situations; anticipate and address conflict with managerial courage
• Coach and guide the work of others; serve as mentor within and beyond the team
• Coordinate activities typically within the manager's own team
• Performs other duties as assigned; duties may change or be added at any time with or without notice
• Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including acting professionally, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and the bank

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Financial Mathematics, Statistics, or the Natural Sciences (required) or
• Master's Degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Financial Mathematics, Statistics, or the Natural Sciences (preferred)

Work Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree (required)
• 3+ years of relevant experience with a Master's degree (preferred) or equivalent experience

Skills

• Skill in using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data presentation
• Ability to write queries or code including complex joins
• Ability to use business intelligence and data visualization tools to tell impactful stories with data
• Ability to work with analytical programming languages for data analysis such as Python, R, SQL, Java
• Understanding of process flow and automation
• Ability to work with big data and navigate data warehouses and data supply chains
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to deliver the right message at the right time through the right channel; capable of executive-level presentation and coaching
• Demonstrated leadership; may have direct reports; ability to mentor and develop others; coordinate cross-team activities and demonstrate accountability

Compensation And Benefits

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $96,000.00 - $181,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based on factors including skills, experience and geographic location.
