Summary

The SCS Business Analyst is responsible for successful delivery of implementations and enhancements for D&H Supply Chain Services. The role is highly collaborative, coordinating with a broad range of cross-functional project stakeholders (internal and external).

The Business Analyst (BA) team is part of the Project Management Office (PMO) within IT. The BA serves as a communication bridge between business stakeholders and IT staff, facilitating discussions to understand current processes and needs for change, then documenting and communicating these to IT for solution design.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Develop understanding of end users’ current business processes.
  2. Elicit business requirements.
  3. Create and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRD).
  4. Facilitate cross-functional requirements review (BA/DEV/QA).
  5. Secure approval/sign-off for BRD.
  6. Support development and testing of deliverables.
  7. Develop User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Plan; review with stakeholders.
  8. Create and validate integration test files (EDI X12, API, XML, flat files).
  9. Facilitate UAT and share results.
  10. Secure UAT approval/signoff.
  11. Develop Go-Live Plan when needed.
  12. Create training materials, including Train-The-Trainer models.
  13. Complete post go-live validation and support during warranty period; manage bug lifecycle as necessary.
  14. Maintain process documentation, updating after projects.
  15. Provide updates on project status, milestones, risks, issues.
  16. Analyze integration specifications, perform gap analysis against organizational capabilities.
  17. Identify process improvements, recommend and implement changes.
  18. Coordinate with external partners during projects.
  19. Support and mentor team members.
  20. Adhere to PMO and IT processes.
  21. Collaborate organization-wide to ensure project success.
  22. Assist with troubleshooting production issues and escalate as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Familiarity with B2B integration (EDI, API, XML) and communication protocols (AS2, SFTP, VAN).
  • Understanding of EDI X12 formats and specifications.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Adaptability to evolving technical environments.
  • Proven collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years in a Business Analyst or related role.
  • 3+ years facilitating integration implementations.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, ERP, WMS, and productivity software.
