Job summary

Phaxis is seeking a Business Analyst to partner with Finance, Operations, Technology, and stakeholders on the Global General Ledger implementation. You will document current and future state processes, map data sources, and support testing and deployment activities.

The role requires strong BA experience in finance/ERP projects, especially SAP or Oracle, with excellent communication and stakeholder management across global teams. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in the New York area.

Qualifications

• BA experience on large‑scale finance, accounting, ERP, or transformation initiatives.
• Experience with finance systems and data flows is preferred.
• Experience supporting SAP or Oracle implementations is required.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for the Global General Ledger implementation.
• Document current-state and future-state processes, workflows, and operating models.
• Identify data sources and dependencies and how they feed into the future-state environment.
• Conduct gap analysis between current and future state processes.
• Lead requirements-gathering sessions and process workshops with Finance, Operations, Technology, and other stakeholders.
• Translate business needs into clear requirements for project and technology teams.
• Identify dependencies, data requirements, impacts, and risks.
• Support UAT planning, test scenarios, execution coordination, defect tracking, and sign-off.
• Validate that the solution meets business requirements and maintains project artifacts throughout implementation.
• Support change management and readiness activities for the future-state GL environment.

The Business Analyst will partner closely with Finance, Operations, Technology, and project stakeholders to understand existing business processes, document current-state and future-state workflows, identify data sources and dependencies, and support testing and implementation activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements related to the Global General Ledger implementation.
• Document current-state and future-state business processes, workflows, and operating models.
• Identify and document where financial and operational data originates, how it flows through existing processes, and how it will feed into the future-state GL environment.
• Conduct gap analysis between current-state processes and future-state requirements.
• Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions and process workshops with Finance, Operations, Technology, and other stakeholders.
• Translate business needs into clear requirements and documentation for project and technology teams.
• Identify process dependencies, business impacts, data requirements, and potential implementation risks.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, test scenarios, execution coordination, defect tracking, and business sign-off.
• Partner with stakeholders to validate that the implemented solution meets agreed-upon business requirements.
• Maintain process documentation, requirements, decisions, and other project artifacts throughout the implementation lifecycle.
• Support change management and business readiness activities as the organization transitions to the future-state GL environment.

Qualifications

• Strong Business Analyst experience supporting large-scale finance, accounting, ERP, or transformation initiatives.
• Experience with General Ledger, Finance, Accounting, or financial systems/processes strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting an SAP or Oracle implementation/transformation required
• Strong experience with requirements gathering, process mapping, current-state/future-state analysis, and UAT.
• Ability to understand and document complex data flows and identify upstream/downstream data sources and dependencies.
• Experience working across business, Finance, Operations, and Technology teams.
• Financial services experience strongly required
• Excellent communication, documentation, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to operate effectively within a complex, global transformation program.
