Purpose

The Business Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that the business's needs for changes to processes, policies, and information systems are identified, understood, documented, and acted upon by eliciting, analyzing, documenting, validating, specifying, and verifying business or user needs. The incumbent assists in gathering and synthesizing business requirements for low complexity software, systems, processes, and/or services, translating them into specifications to meet business objectives. As the functional expert, the incumbent acts as the conduit between the business area and the technical or software development team, through which requirements flow.

Essential Functions

• Interpret business needs by gathering, eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and validating user and technical requirements. Participate in creating requirements documentation and project plans, and in requirements analysis and verification sessions.
• Manage user acceptance testing, including documentation, verification, and release. Identify and document gaps and system deficiencies, coordinating appropriate actions and providing guidance to end users.
• Identify, document, and troubleshoot problems in systems, software, and processes. Collaborate with stakeholders to monitor, report, and resolve issues, and develop solutions for low complexity technical or business issues.
• Review, analyze, and document business systems and user needs clearly. Develop or collaborate on key project and requirement deliverables for low complexity projects.
• Monitor and report project status, mitigate risks, and ensure quality and timely delivery. Coordinate projects from concept through implementation and manage new work requests.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or an additional 4 years of relevant work experience if lacking a degree.

Experience: 3 years in functional, operational, business, data, systems, or testing analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to deliver high-quality, effective results on time.
• Moderate understanding of core business analysis competencies.
• Proficient knowledge of HIPAA EDI 837 transactions.
• Experience in Service and/or Claims Operations.
