Job Title: BUSINESS ANALYST II

Duration: The engagement is for 14 weeks, an extension may be possible

Location: The role may be performed remotely, with no required time zone. Maureen noted that the team works across multiple time zones; alignment with HM’s Pacific Time schedule would be helpful but is not mandatory.

Workiva Implementation Support Scope:

This role supporting company’s integration of newly acquired Calpine entities into Workiva for greenhouse-gas accounting and broader ESG data collection.

Workiva Responsibilities:

The contractor will navigate Workiva and configure entities, data metrics, emission sources, and other system components so business subject-matter experts can enter sustainability data.

Relevant experience with Workiva, greenhouse-gas accounting platforms, general reporting systems, data flows, and advanced spreadsheet functions is preferred.

Calpine Site Onboarding:

The initial phase involves adding Calpine greenhouse-gas emission sources and associated information to Workiva.

The sustainability team will provide source lists, and the contractor will collaborate with the team to define the process, track progress through at least weekly check-ins, and reprioritize remaining sites as details develop.

Historical GHG Data:

A subsequent phase will add Calpine’s 2023 greenhouse-gas data to establish the baseline year and verify that data flows correctly through Workiva. Johanna indicated that completing this work is expected to take approximately two to three months.

ESG Data And User Support:

A partially overlapping phase will onboard non-greenhouse-gas ESG data providers and reviewers, finalize metrics such as water consumption and HR data, validate and tie out data, and prepare the system for the following year’s data entry. The contractor will also help create onboarding materials and support training for new Workiva users.

Experience Expectations:

Formal education is secondary to experience working with accounting systems or Workiva; high school education or higher is preferred.

Approximately two years of data-adjacent work as a minimum guideline, with two to three years of data work and familiarity with sophisticated spreadsheet functions viewed as ideal, while stronger experience in one area may offset less education.
