Job Description

Summary: C/NET Solutions CNExT Cancer Registry software is used by Cancer Registrars for mandated cancer reporting and analysis of the cancer population. The Business Analyst I provides project management and coordination of CNExT and CAS installations, data conversions, CAS customizations, and other customer projects. The role also includes technical writing and customer communications. The Business Analyst I reports to the Information Technology Manager of C/NET Solutions and works within standard policies and procedures.

This is a remote regular 8-hour full-time position with a standard workday schedule of 7am - 4pm PT (including one hour lunch). Candidates in the United States are welcome to apply. Flexibility in work hours is required. The incumbent may work outside business hours to support customers outside the US. Full pay range: $33.80 to $49.00 per hour; typical hiring range is $33.80 to $41.40 per hour. Employment Type: Full Time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following (percentages indicate approximate allocation):

  • Conversions - 25%
  • Serves as project manager and data analyst for customer installations and data conversions.
  • Serves as project manager for customers exiting to a new vendor.
  • Analyzes data conversion needs and develops export/import plans and file layouts.
  • Recommends solutions for software conversion capabilities and state reporting requirements.
  • Performs conversion of physician data exports into CNExT format.
  • Analyzes conversion data results, reports issues to Programming staff, and assists with corrections.
  • Assists customers' technical personnel with installation and converted databases.
  • Trains customer registry staff in CNExT software usage.
  • Assists customer registry staff with review of conversion data.
  • Provides frontline CNExT support to facility staff until conversion issues are resolved.
  • Cas Customizations/Installations - 25%
  • Project manager for CAS customization projects, enhancements and installations (CAS modules, CAS Listener, Processor, Sender, Importer, Receiver).
  • Assists customers with installation of CAS software.
  • Assists with analysis and modification of CAS Rules (Search Terms and ICD code filtering).
  • Trains facility staff in CAS software usage and provides frontline CAS support.
  • Documentation - 5%
  • Develops and maintains user and staff technical documentation for conversions, CAS, and other projects, including training manuals and instructional documents.
  • Submits ideas for newsletters and writes articles as assigned.
  • Customer Projects - 15%
  • Project manager for migrations from Access to SQL Server, database merging, medical record number conversions, and related queries.
  • Provides data format requirements to state/central registries, tests data formats, and trains facility staff on data import procedures.
  • Provides frontline support for project execution and initial training as needed.
  • Technical Support - 10%
  • Supports CNExT and CAS software and provides training.
  • Assists higher-level support with complex issues (level 2).
  • Software Testing - 5%
  • Participates in routine software testing and documents results.
  • Help File and Metafile Work - 12%
  • Backs up help files and Metafile work.
  • Other
  • Access to Protected Health Information and compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality policies.
  • Occasionally works more than 40 hours per week and may work outside standard hours.
  • Performs other essential duties as assigned.

  • Attends workgroup calls and optional training; mentors interns or new hires; performs other non-essential duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Oncology Data Specialist - Certified (ODS-C)
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or business management, or substitute with four additional years of related experience.

Other Qualifications

  • Knowledge of CAS and CNExT software, Constant Contact CRM, and Jitbit Helpdesk.
  • Extensive knowledge of software products and data analysis for cancer registry data.
  • Strong SQL Server administration and SQL programming skills preferred.
  • Understanding of CNExT software functions, data entry, reporting, and import/export procedures.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to train peers; team-oriented with lead capacity.
  • Knowledge of cancer registry practices and reporting requirements per ACoS, NAACCR, SEER, and other standards preferred.
Tools and Skills

Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Windows, Office 365, Microsoft Project, Helpdesk software, VPN/Remote Desktop, and related tools.
