As a Business Analysis Consultant on the Optum Financial Systems team, you will help rewrite the future of the healthcare system. You will analyze complex financial data, drive requirements to create Optum Financial Data marts, translate business strategy into technical product features for Optum Technology tool development, and deliver business-savvy solutions that impact millions of lives. Working within a complex matrix of global business units, you will manage product backlogs, sprint prioritization, and automated SOX controls testing prior to User Acceptance Testing (UAT), leveraging cutting-edge technology supported by a Fortune 5 enterprise.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Analyze, review, forecast, and trend complex financial data, reviewing and validating the analysis and interpretation of others' work
• Develop and implement effective and strategic business solutions through thorough research and analysis of data and business processes
• Support short- and long-term operational and strategic business activities through detailed data analysis and reporting
• Drive business requirements and data analysis to build and enhance Optum Financial Data marts
• Translate strategic business initiatives into technical product features and functional requirements for Optum Technology tool development
• Assist product owners and business leads in managing product backlogs, user stories, and sprint prioritization
• Perform initial product testing, tie-out analysis, and automated SOX controls validation prior to User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Collaborate across cross-functional teams and matrixed business units to solve complex challenges and serve as a trusted business analysis resource

Required Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience in business or finance, including business analysis experience
• Experience analyzing business processes and workflows, and providing evaluations, benchmarks, and process improvement recommendations
• Experience translating business requirements into technical product features or functional specifications
• Experience performing data analysis, data tie-outs, or working with data marts / financial reporting systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with automated SOX controls, financial compliance validation, or UAT testing processes
• Experience working within a matrixed corporate structure in healthcare, financial services, or technology sectors
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
